I also have the Davis Vantage Vue mounted about 4' above my garage roof. It is very accurate and keeps weather logs. The display shows lots of data. The price has doubled since I bought mine.
Just saying that if you are interested in what is actually happening in and around your place, get a weather station. I have a Davis Instruments Weather Vue that is set at a height of 15 feet over my garden area. What the commercial places like Weather Underground or Accuweather say for the forecast or what to be expected, is often quite different than what my weather station states. Rainfall is usually quite a bit more than forecast and winds much less.
I have actually looked into weather stations. I have read good things about Davis. It's good knowing that you both think a lot of them as well.

The temp warmed up overnight from 42*F last night to 50*F this morning. The warm temps along with some rain took care of the rest of the snow, except for the piles from shoveling. Looks like quite a bit of rain for the next 2 days.

Tim, if you even try to do that dance you'll be flat out on your aching back in about 5 seconds. :p

+1 for Davis Instruments weather stations and the customer service is great!

My outside unit stopped sending data to the inside console after around 3 months. Changed the lithium battery, no go. Davis Instruments sent me a new one and even included shipping both ways. All I had to do was take it to a UPS store and install the new one.

I hate it when that happens. It has to be around somewhere.
The snowblower will find it for you!! o_O
Too funny!

It MIGHT be around somewhere, but it was in the back seat of my truck (with its other half), where my kids sit. They have been known to drop stuff and not notice when exiting, so there's a decent chance it's in a store parking lot somewhere!

I'll probably order another pair or two. They're great because they breathe (my hands sweat, apparently), and have a removable liner, so they dry pretty quickly if they get wet.

Got them at Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) a few years ago, and they're on clearance now, so maybe they're going to be discontinued?

That is one issue I have with moving snow. The piles take forever to melt. If left alone most of the snow is gone in a day or two.

Mount Washington, awesome pics!!!!!

Here's one of the road to the Cog Railway base station from this past Labor Day weekend...

I also recognize it. Many years ago, when my kids were small, we were on vacation in that area. We were going to ride the Cog Railway but before we got there, we passed a huge sign showing the prices. IIRC it was $75pp at that time. We turned around and went the other way.

@APinNY We didn't go up, we'd already climbed a mountain that afternoon, I just drove up to look around. I actually haven't been on the Cog since I was a kid/teenager in the 80s. Prices have certainly jumped since then. The coal/steam trains are $99, diesel is $86 (looking at Memorial Day 2022). Off-peak-season would be less, and mid-week might be less as well.

Which road, @Ariens93GT20? I was driving my Class C RV on the road in my pic above, plenty wide enough. There's also a place where you can camp free at the base of the tracks, several large fifth wheel trailers were there.

There's also an auto road on the opposite side of the mountain. You can drive your own passenger vehicle up there, or ride in one of their shuttles.

I've been to the summit all 3 ways (including on my feet). That area has always my Dad's favorite place to vacation.

Good news / bad news...

Good news: FOUND my missing glove (in the garage, not even buried under anything)!!! No idea how it got there. I may just order a pair or two since they're on clearance and I love them so much.

Bad news: It never got out of the single digits (F) yesterday, and the wind chills were at or below zero the whole day. This morning, more of the same so far, although it may warm up into the 30s this afternoon.

You can also ride your bicycle up!

Something is headed up the northeast between the end of this week and the beginning of next week. It looks like a good deal of snow inland, and up into New England but it's still up in the air for us on L.I. The storm's track will be the deciding factor as to whether we have rain or snow.
