This is version 2.0 of "What did you do to or on your John Deere today?" :howdy:
I've been all over the Shelter site.. never did see a vent offered..If you have a ShelerLogic garage and you get really hot summer weather, be sure to add some of their "optional" vents to keep it from getting too hot inside. When it was 85 degrees outside, my Shelter Logic garage (we call it the "Ghetto Garage" - lol) had an inside temp of 119 degrees. By the second year, the roof split during the winter and I'm convinced it was caused by the summer heat making the material brittle and then the weight of the winter snow finished it off.
These vents should be standard equipment as far as I'm concerned. They open and close automatically when the garage gets hot. I forget what they cost but like I said, they should come with the kit, considering what they charge for the garage. YMMV.
I think MrBeef broke his too sometime ago..Not a good last few days with the X748. Sunday I managed to somehow break the depth control rod on the 3PH pulling the cyclone rake. Tractor is less than a month out of warranty but dealer said sorry cannot help ya. So I bought the repair parts and I rush order on shipping as I needed the loader and 3ph tonight and got it all repaired tonight and works great actually adjust easier than it used to. I used the tractor for about an hour tonight and put it away. Afterward in the garage I noticed a funny smell. Open the hood to coolant seeping down the radiator core coming out of one of the tubes in the core. Did someone tell the tractor the warranty was up??isgus:
Is this the one that you are looking for? :dunno:I've been all over the Shelter site.. never did see a vent offered..
I bent my lift adjust rod. The compression cap and spring came off allowing the control rod to come out of its home and bend.... I think the repair was ~$35-40....I think MrBeef broke his too sometime ago..
Your local farm store should have one for ~$20-30 :fing32:Put the Buford bucket on and some how managed to bend the top link on my rear weight bracket. JD wants 75 bucks for one. Ouch.
a lotta good that did.. the site shows them 'Out of Stock'.. OOOHHH well... it ain't hot here now.. it's gonna b a long time now...
WE needs VIDS of that progress... not pics....Rumor has it the white stuff is supposed to fall on Friday afternoon... so I spent a few hours doing last minute preparations and hooked the 60HD broom up to the X748 for the expected 2-4 inches..... time to see how it works in snow.... Based on the temperatures I think there is a chance it will work well

Not sure but have theories:Do you know what happened to make it break?
my exdad in law had a MF 165 with a back blade.. while it was turned for backward pushin.. he bent an adjuster on the right side of the lift assembly when the blade caught on a rock.. on the X7xx series u may not have it in the float position when backin up..Not sure but have theories:
1 Emptying the Cyclone rake I back into and push the leaf pile(s) back a little with the cart while trying to empty the system. This has lifted the 3ph assembly(as my cyclone rake attaches at the 3ph) but the hitch is supposed to float. I have been careful as I was worried about bending the cyclone rake frame so I go slow and also push the piles back with the loader when it's on to avoid this as much as possible. This is while trying to unload the leaves. If this caused the issue guess I should not use my rear blade in push mode as it could float over snow.
2 Vibration from the Cyclone rake. My terrain is rough and the unit out back is big and long with it's own engine running. In the adapter on the cyclone where you pin it to the 3ph I have already seen wear in the holes for the pins and I have only had the setup for 1 year
3 When they delivered my x748 they did not set up my 7 iron correctly. Off the delivery trailer I found the shoulder bolt in the 3ph extremely bent. They came out and set up the 7 iron correctly and replaced some parts of the 3ph. I had requested the whole hitch be replaced but they would only do parts saying that if anything else showed up bad the warranty should cover it. The strap to the deck and the bolt took the brunt of the stress and damage so I would not think it would effected the depth rod???
The depth rod broke off cleanly right where it downsized threads for the lock nut?
I think I am more upset right now about the radiator. This tractor has done well except for a couple minor issues till now.

MrBeef actually posted a loose clamp may b the prob.. I just did a repeat of that..Maverick74, hopefully it's just a loose clamp, like Whirly posted. my 720 leaked and had to tighten hose clamps.
Not sure what happened on yours. I just brought a X739. They had some new guy install the 3 -point hitch and pto kits. On mine he put a regular nut above the spring instead of a lock nut like it called for. The nut came off, the spring fell out and the rod dropped out of place. If I hadn't noticed it I think the rod would have gotton broke or the threads messed up for sure. Not a good last few days with the X748.
