I finally got my new CTC loader. I wish the bucket was a little deeper but this thing works great!

Thanks. It was a challenge. The holes in the tractor frame were not evenly located. I didn't want to believe it but I measured the loader 3 times and the tractor 3 times. It was the tractor. Someone else said they had the same problem with theirs. Otherwise, it was time consuming but pretty straight forward.

Congrats! If you don't have it already, consider getting the tooth bar from CTC. I've used and abused my CTC for a couple of years now and have zero complaints. It had a few quirks but I enjoy re-thinking / re-engineering stuff.

Check my joystick thread - having a joystick to operate the loader made an enormous improvement to me.

Thanks Mike, Thanks again for the use of the gauge too. I appreciate it. Here are a few more pics. I made a couple of spacers for the lift cylinders to aid in removing the loader. They really help in the process. When I moved the levers to relieve the pressure to unhook the hoses the cylinders would retract, these prevent that from happening.

How did you deal with the frame/hole problem? Did you have to re-drill something or???

Also, did the JD graphics come on the CTC or did you add them right away?

I used a carbide bit to elongate the hole on the right side of the frame. I do not have a welder so I might use JB Weld to fill it and grind it or load it up and take a trip down to the local welder. I purchased the decals on Ebay, they are actually for a JD CX200 if I recall correctly (I looked at a couple different ones).

Coming from you, that is a real compliment. I spent a couple of hours last night reading (and examining) your H5 post. Almost anyone can put a couple of decals on something but few can imagine and execute a project like your H5. Congrats on an outstanding job!

Congrats. i have always liked the looks of the arched top frame of the CTC loader. :fing32:

I will guess it's a level bucket indicator (there may be a better term for it). My dad has one on his New Holland. Helps you know when the bucket is flat.

Congrats on the loader. I do however find it hard to believe that all these tractor frames are drilled wrong. All of the problems that I have heard about are with CTC loaders. So that seems like the issue instead of the tractor frame. Every John Deere attachment seems to work fine.

I wasn't referring to the Deere loader. I am talking about front quick hitches and I haven't heard of any problems with the Buford Bucket lining up correctly. I know it stinks that the CTC is the only option for a full front end loader these days but you hear about a lot of problems with them.

Sure Mike. I'll try to do that sometime over the weekend. Here is what I have for now. I know that the bucket is level when the bend in the rod is centered (it actually "drops" into the "notch" in the rod). I attached the rod about midway between the 2 bucket pins and about an inch from the rear of the inboard bracket that the pins pass through.

The more I look at this tooth bar, the more I am liking it. I wasn't crazy about it at first because it is different from a "traditional" tooth bar but as Mike X485 said, it will give me that little bit of depth in the bucket that I was wishing for when I used the loader for the first time. I just may have to get one of them. Thanks!

I do not have any problems with mine. It is on a 2004 X485. Works just like it should everytime.

I have a Titan 48" tooth bar on my 45 loader. Very heavy-duty and works great for digging. Just did a paver patio and dug 12-14" deep before back filling with gravel. Also works good for moving very large stones because it adds to the length of the bucket. The tractor is a bit light for digging, but if you take your time it can be done.
