Weird, on the news, they've been saying that it's been a quiet flu season. Should be, with distancing and masks, right?

Mike
You'd hope. Here mask compliance is 50% at best.

You see these driveways?...they can shovel them out themselves if they want to complain ;)....the other neighbors can stop bringing me all their broken stuff to fix or asking me to chase their dogs around when the run out on them..or they can take their cars and bikes somewhere else for air..... it does, however, drive my wife crazy😂
I've also found that once you become the neighborhood 'go-to' guy people become very tolerant indeed. Yes... I have that o-ring you'd have to order and wait a week for right here, the roads are clear and every blade of grass within sight is cut. Your carb is 'overhauled' and even though I'm not saying, I bought a brand-new one for you, and no there's no charge and thanks for the rice/grapes/potatoes/whatever.

I do draw the line at chasing down dogs...

Fun to do and makes life real nice. 🍻

You made me laugh out loud! Glad to hear that you have such a good relationship with the neighborhood. And that is as it should be, folks helping each other solve problems when they can and not looking to create problems at every opportunity.

It's actually pretty good here, but I really only go to work and to stores. You aren't allowed into either place without a mask.

There was one parent at the sledding hill the last time we went a few weeks ago. Everyone there was wearing a mask except for him. You could tell by looking at him that he was just waiting to be challenged.

I just redirected the boys to the other side of the hill. No need to ruin everyone's day (ours and everyone else there) over one moron.

Every store in our town has a sign stating masks are required to enter yet half of the shoppers are not wearing them, the store workers are not enforcing it either.

Same here. At the peak of it I saw a guy like Mike was talking about in Wal Mart. Glaring at anyone who might dare to say anything. People are insane.

Rudy and Randy, not where I live. If someone doesn't have a mask on they escort them outside. In fact, you have to wear it outside. They passed a law here. As a result our infection rate is low. below 3%.
I wish they would here. They walk in in it then pull it off immediately. Governor recently made a statement that fines were going to be reimbursed to all businesses who had been caught violating the mask mandate.

Here's an interesting YouTube video on how to unlock a car door without a key. I think I've used these tricks to get into cars.
Pretty slick video, thanks.
My wife can simply call Onstar and they'll unlock it remotely; with my Jeep I'd have to use an alternate method, maybe a hammer:rolleyes:

Mark, that's an impressive amount of wood you have back there. The Massey looks right at home posing with the rounds it's been moving too. Maybe it's time to start thinking about building an outdoor wood burning pizza oven.

Mike, I hope that everything turns out well for your son, along with you, and the rest of your family.

Exactly as it should be--BJ..but sadly, very sadly--the world has changed, at least in my eyes--to something far worse...

Used to be a 'go-to'-
somebody everywhere that could/would help out w/ whatever....just some common decency a lot of times...
(sigh)--sometimes I just think my thinking is outdated, but I know it's not--I'm just in the minority now.
glenn....

Cleared the apple tree and dogwood out of the front yard today. Making room for an expanded driveway probably next year, have to get some stumps removed first though. This is also clearing the drive so delivery trucks can get in without any issues since the metal for the roof is ordered and the brick/cement work should start next week.

You were just waiting for the weather to break so you could get out there and make a mess weren't you?? :) Looks like a lot more wood than I originally thought had been delivered, couple more loads like that and you'll be waiting for snow to fall this winter!!

Set out a dwarf apple tree this morning, tilled enough garden this afternoon to plant two double rows of peas, on regular & one sugar snap. Then got Cubby out for a few trips around the yard.

Made lasagna for dinner (noon), first time I've made it, haven't had any for two years, sure was good! Enough left over for 3-4 more meals.
