First let me Congratulate you moderators for a great site.:fing32: You have some great information here. I reside in NW Indiana and have only had a few lawn tractors. I really don't know much about them, but do enjoy working on them when need be.

My current tractor is a Toro Wheelhorse and the problem that I need assistance with is, I believe, the transmission. I had my son change the plugs, oil, fuel filter and air filter so it would be ready for the summer season. Now the machine will not go into gear. :banghead3

Here is what I have done so far:
I checked the belt - it looks good with good tension.
I checked the foot pedal linkage.
I saw a lever that extends out the back that looks like it disengages the trans. I moved it back and forth. There were no binds and it looked like it had good motion. I am want to disconnect this rod and and see how much motion the transmission has and if it might need adjusting. My only reservation is that I could move it to far and do some other damage. :Stop:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I am new to the forum and it seems to be a great place for information. I have a Wheel Horse 416 model and am trying to figure out the starting problem with it. It won't turn over and the Oil like flashes when I turn it on. There is enough oil and I have replace the 300 fuse because it looked melted. Is there any common issue with these models? Any help would be appreciated.
