Is it turning hard or not turning at all?

The starter grounds to the engine block. Pull it off and clean up the contact areas and inspect the starter while you're at it.

The alternative is to check and clean the ground strap from the frame to the engine block.

The solenoid, safety switches and ignition switch are all involved with cranking the engine. Lots of wires and contacts to check out. Pick a starting point either the battery or the starter, and work downstream or upstream from there until you find the problem.

Starting at the starter will sort out the ground side of the circuit and starter condition right off the bat, then you can go downstream from the battery positive.

I have not done much work too it but, after the storm I have done alot of work with it . The grapple has been priceless in cleaning up the several trees we lost. I would have had to hire someone to do this if it was not for my LT1000 ! Hopefully over the winter I will be able to get some of the finishing touches done so I can paint in the spring .

Super! Nice machine. :thanku:

Here are some pics of the rear hitch/counterweight I am making .It is almost complete just need some fittings and mounting blocks to clean up the hydraulics.

I made the mounting points adjustable to" TRY" and future proof it. The four link memebers are 1-1/2 sq 1/4" wall tube . I used 1/4" wall 3/4" DOM for end links and 3/4" pins w/zerks. The bumper is 5/8" x 9" plate with a 2x2 rec hitch welded in.

I have a separate joystick to operate it . The up/dwn has float and the aux outlets are used for the dump trailer I made. Now to make a rear scraper blade for the storm coming.

Great work on this loader. Very nice design.

Regarding this rear hitch, fabrication looks nice but I can't figure out what it's for? Why do you have the ends angled back toward the tires? Also, wouldn't it have been more versatile to add a standard Cat0 or Cat1 3pt hitch?

The work you did was absolutly amazing, i dont have the words to describe it. I hope someday i can do work a quarter as good as yours. Glad its keeping you up and about as well

May be a dumb question but did you ever send pictures of this or even the thread to the people at Hydro Gear? That is great to hear they donated the transmissions to you, maybe they would like to see what it created

Keep up the great work :)?

Thank you for the compliment on my creation .

I made it this way so I would be able to pick up my trailer ,move it ,load it and then unload with only having to get off my seat to hook up the hydraulics to dump it. The four link design ensures that the hitch is lifted parallel to the ground and does not bind or stress the connection to the trailer.

It also works as a lift so in the winter when the snow plow is on I can put the bumper down and the snow plow down and it lifts the wheels of the ground about 6" so it is a breeze to put the chains on or off and even do service work.

The ends are bent in to allow greater maneuvering. I am able to turn around with my snow plow on within the width of a one car drive with room to spare.

Good to see that the tractor is still working well for you! I always thought it was a pretty amazing build!

Did you ever get around to painting it? (The bumper looks nice and shiny red.)

Thank you both for the kind words !

I have not gotten around to painting it yet . I am making a small press brake so I can start bending up covers and the rear hood so it will look finished and professional then I will paint it.

Once the painting is all finished I will send pictures to Ventrac and Hydro-Gear .
Ryan Steiner of Ventrac has spent a lot of time and money helping me out and he still emails me to check on progress !

Glad to see you are making progress. Mine is still on that slow boat from China. I got side tracked making a clothes line/ flag pole for the back yard using the left over stock. Now about the snow that keeps coming.
Talk to ya later Chris.

Its great to hear that such a big company is helping someone. With your talent they would be lucky to have you on there design team.

Best of luck finishing it up :)
