Wow, That buggy sure is dirty! I never realized how filthy mine was until I tore mine down. I filled half of a coffee can of the greasy sludgy filth. I think mine was so dirty because the oil pan gasket leaked for a long time. I used GUNK engine degreaser to clean my engine and frame and it work super. I just let it soak for about 30 minutes and pressure washed it.
Never used gunk (or any degreaser) before, whats the best way to use it? Maybe I wont go to the car wash...

Do you apply engine degreaser the same way you would simple green? Mix with water and lather up?

I have used the gunk degreaser before, I know use the purple degreaser like Catrol or just Advance's or Wally's house brand. Scrape off heavy stuff, spray it down real good, let it soak, maybe spray again if it dried, then used a tooth brush or stiff scrubbing brush to clean caked on stuff, then either pressue wash or hit it with a hose.
Then if repainting, clean with acetone or prep solv and paint.

I buy cheap oven cleaner from a dollar store ,it works better than more costly "degreasers",but you must use care with it,it can dull or remove paint and will eat aluminum if you leave it on too long...its not as "safe" as other cleaners like Simple Green, but it works very well to get that thick gunk off the first time, without needing to repeat the process several times...I like Castrol "Super-Clean" ,but it can take paint off too,and dull it,and can harm aluminum...its also 8+ bucks a gallon...

Well I went to Napa and the hardware store today to spend some mowing money. Napa didnt have the bushing, neither did TSC, ill call Home Depot or order it online. But I bought a new belt at Napa, then went to the HW store and bought a can of GUNK and an eye bolt for the clutch spring. Gonna look at mounting the eye bolt tomorrow, and possibly a new clutch spring.

I'm assuming the goal is to be done by Saturday... but if not, the 16 will get some use?

Oh, the 16 is pulling Jon, I decided that like 2 weeks ago before I put the stack and tires on for 4H. I would love to have it done this week though.

Did some more work today, pulled all the tins off the engine to clean it up, installed my eye bolt and took a look at how the spring will fit and stuff. Video in the works.

Already doing wheelies, lol. I did that when I repainted my '69 SS 12 so I could clean and repaint it all without disassembling the frame from the rearend.

Theres a place in South Windsor that has one, I would need to trim it a bit, either that or its eBay. Looking like I wont have time to get it in one piece for this weekend, I wanna do it right.
