Hey guys, I found a 2010 X700 with 63 hours and the 62" cut for $6,000. Is this a good deal? I really doubt if I buy it, but it makes me want to seriously consider it.

That price is not completely uncommon for X700's. That model seems to depreciate faster than others. I watch the used market for them in my area.

I am hoping to step up from my X500 to an X700 in a year or two. Affordability of a used X700 makes it possible for me. I really cannot justify a new X700 or any higher models.

I can walk into my garage and see my $5000 X500 sitting there and it doesn't bother me. I know it is priceless when the snow falls in the winter and I need to clear my driveway. I would be equally unmoved by a used $7000 X700. But a brand new one at $9000 or any of the other X7'x is too much for me. I would see that $2000 stack of bills sitting in the garage and think of other things I could be enjoying with it.

I am attracted to the X700 by the rear hydraulic circuit and the carburator. I want the rear hydraulics for rear blade in the winter to clean out the curb and I prefer the larger cat3 implements over the integral hitch versions.

It's an awesome deal, if it's in good condition and has been well maintained. I agree with HP - if you proceed, tread carefully.

It awesome deal if legit, but beware if it's a craigslist add so many scams out there.

This has been on Rollanet for about a month now. Its a local classified website. All I know is the guy is selling because of health reasons. Which makes me a little bit worried, he didn't take real good care of it.

I am debating that or a rebuilt 318 that I found on craigslist. Take a look.http://columbiamo.craigslist.org/grd/2988033171.html

Now I am just wondering how much I can get for my GT235 with a front blade.

The only thing I don't like is neither one of these tractors have a front blade.

DANGER, WILL ROBINSON!!! Why is a tractor located in California being advertised on CL in Missouri? Be VERY wary of this one!!!!!!!

Not sure I follow you on the health issues leading to not taking care of it. It is just a few years old with just 63 hrs. If he didn't do anything to it (maintenance) but use it for 63hrs, how bad can that be? Otherwise, would someone with health issues be more hard on a piece of equipment? Also 2010 model should have warranty through 2014. Maybe you know of some specific issue with the unit?

Now that I think about it, NYSFF is right. Unless it was really abused or ran without oil, what's the worst shape it could be in with 63 hours on it??? Even if it's never had an oil change or a lube, it shouldn't be in too bad shape. I still say watch out for a scam, but if you can actually see the tractor, as long as there is no "shipping it in from another state" involved, as long as you can pay the man his money and not let the tractor out of your sight until it's on your trailer, then GO FOR IT!!!
