Thanks,Bill

Thanks. I read somewhere that Speedex and Wheel horse were related, just wasn't sure where to post.
Wheelhoure was started by two brothers.
They split...One made Wheelhorse...One made Speedex...
The Speedex brand was created by Harold Pond....Harolds brother Elmer Pond with his son Cecil started the Pond tractors that later became Wheel Horse in the mid 50ies after a dispute over the name "Pond"

Harold actually started out working for the Shaw Tractors before going out on his own & starting the Speedex line.
Elmer did work for his brother for a time selling the Speedex walk behind tractors from his garage in South Bend, IN

Thats the only connection there is.
After Elmer started building his own make of tractor the two brothers had a falling out so to speak.

i believe thats a 10hp engine from the numbers.its a 24 cubic inch, the model 23 is 23 cubic inch and its 9hp and the model 19 is 19 cubic inch and is 7hp.
Thanks. For some reason I figured it was a 10 horse. Some day I might post pics. of this thing.Trying to straighten the stearing shaft now, then figure out why it won't spark. Already rebuilt the carb.,replaced the points/condensor and cleaned up the coil/flywheel. I am thinking the coil is bad.
Thanks,Bill
