Lowe's and Home Depot both sell corrugated metal roofing in 10 foot lengths for about $20 a sheet..granted it is thin stuff, but a few guys I know have used it to replace tarps on those shelters by using wood strapping clamped to the pipes with conduit clamps to screw the panels to, and have had good luck with it,even after getting buried in deep snow ..
I love the idea, but at our remote location (just Google Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada), we'd pay a fortune to get those here.

I've seen a few of those tent shelters re-skinned with the tin off old water heaters too...not that pretty, but it was free..
Do you mean the outer skin of the heater? I'd love to see a pic of what that looks like. We go through quite q few of those with out hard water. Probably would take quite a few to suffice.

I've had a couple of the straight angled roof styled tents for a lot of years now, storing boats under, 10x20.
They, the straight top, do not handle snow at all. I've had them collapse twice now, which means there is a bunch of bent tubes. (yes, I do try to keep the snow off but sometimes it comes too fast to get back and get it off)

The fabric is also getting deteriorated and more replacements are needed.

I had planned to build a pole barn to replace the tents but that's not happening now.

But, (the reason for the post) is, be sure to check with your City to see if the tents are legal,
here in the/our City, they are not.
While so far they haven't been aggressive on enforcing it, IF a neighbor complains, the City will make you take it down.
True story, a neighbor had one in back his garage with a collector car inside, a neighbor next to him complained to the City and he had to "take it down". But, when he did, he removed the frame and left the tarp over the car, which was OK. So the complaining neighbor still got to look/see the car and tarp, just with no frame under it.

As for moving these things, it's a pain to move them, so put it where it can stay a while.

We love the metal roofing idea, although that would be awfully hard to relocate to another place. Awfully hard if not impossible to find metal roofing here without going broke.
How hard is it to relocate the 12x20 shelter? Might be better to have it secured to 2x6 planks?
I repurposed above ground pool steel sides I can walk on it (220lbs) slippery self clearing and it was free...

If you want to double up the fabric on the top, you can buy a reskin kit and put it underneath the outer cover. Assuming the 20 foot length roundtop mentioned in this thread, you can fit a white 10x20 cover. Also, they offer a lace-on reskin kit for an 8x20 roundtop that could easily be fitted under the 10x20.

What some folks here are doing is reskinning with metal roofing.
Excellent idea!
I plan on reskinning my 12X36 which ripped this winter. I plan on doubling up on the canvas in areas that see a lot of wear (I have a peaked roof). I plan on cutting sections out of the old canvas and just glueing them in place inside of the new one before putting it over the frame.

Also, in case anyone is interested, I ran numerous bracing wires across the frame to keep it from bending outward due to snow buildup. It has held up quite well. I have seen lots of small planes lost at my local airport due to snow overload collapsing the shelter on the aircraft.
