KATT would be the authority. He uses some KLASSE system and his stuff looks showroom. But unless you're going to take it to shows or ride around and cut your neighbors lawns a good wax (after the paint has cured) should be all that's necessary if you want to go that far. Can't say I've ever waxed a tractor and not sure its even on my bucket list.

I'd let it set a minimum of a week and closer to two or three weeks if possible before trying to put wax on it.

For a guy that doesn't wax a tractor he's right on. I have noticed JD Paint cures very slowly. I didn't touch my deck for over 2 weeks or longer !!

Here are some possibilities.

Some guys clear coat it.( one of the guys did a 112L? beautifully) I don't, because touch up would be more difficult later. And sometimes it "lifts" the JD paint.( doubt it would if let to cure long enough).
Use a MILD buffing material ( I use Maguire's) it smoothes out the little dust bumps and give a deeper shine.
Then I do use KLASSE sealant but just ICE it and you'll be fine. ( don't forget to ICE everything including the semi flat black parts )

OH jeez...don't wax it,thats the worst thing u could do,obviously it looks dull or rough,a buffer may help,but that stuff takes time to cure..i wouldn't touch it for at least a week,,i would never paint a mower with a can ,i've been in auto body/painting for 23 years...it's all i know...as for waxing don't,paint has to breath,and let solvents air out,even with real high quality paints u never wax for 2 months

Like I said seems JD paint take even longer to cure I've been told on automobile paint you should wait 6 months for wax

 

I've painted LOTS of things with cans.. Toscani is right that it needs to cure, it needs to breath so the solvents leach out. But not everyone has a good spray gun setup or the knowledge on how to properly mix paints. I'll stick with rattle cans.

 

When I painted cars, years ago, I lived by the old-school rules:
- never any soap & water wash, to a fresh paint job, for at least a month

Putting wax on a new paint job, would me months later time frame.
