Power King Stalling Problem

When starting my Power King cold it will run for about 1-2 minutes and then stall. I tried adjusting the choke to keep it running but this did not work. Once it initially dies, it will restart (somewhat reluctantly) but then stalls after only a few seconds. I don't know if I have a fuel filter problem, a carburator problem or what. Any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this? Thanks.

Sounds like it's starving for fuel. If you have a filter, check it for clogs. Fuel line could be coming apart because of the new gas and plugging the line. Fuel pump may be going bad (last resort). The float in your carb may be set a tad too low and it's not letting quite enough. Sounds more like a clog problem to me because (and correct me if I'm wrong) the longer it sits, the more fuel get's into the carb?

I had the same problem with mine! I checked everything, then one day i had the fuel bowl apart and did not have the fuel shut off and it was only dripping a little fuel. i took a small nail and stuck it in the nipple coming out of the fuel tank and knocked the rust out of the nipple . purs lick a kitten now :bannana:

That sounds like a fuel supply issue to me. I would start by draining the tank, blowing out the fuel line, and also draining the fuel bowl on the carb.

The Kohler service manual has a troubleshooting guide that may help you with the issue. The manual is a free download from Kohler (check the Backyard forum for the links).

Hope this helps
