Hi recently picked up a 1968 mtd 1200. Would like to get get a snowblower for it. Can't seem to find anything near me in michigan. If anyone has one they want to part with please let me know. Was told older wheel horse snowblowers from similar years will work. Haven't looked at any yet. Would be surprised if this is correct. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
A blower will be hard to find separately for your 1200. Haban made blowers for many older tractors, that is what I have. I doubt a Wheel Horse blower will mount without modifying it.

Can you post pictures of your tractor?

Thanks for the reply. I figured the previous owner was full of it when he told me wheel horse implements will work on them 1200's. I will post pics when I get home. Vtxrider When you put your snowblower attachment on your tractor could you send me some pics of the mount and pulleys?

I can post pictures of the blower and mounting now but off the tractor.

This should give an idea how this one mounts. Some MTD blowers use the carriage lift underneath and the PTO drive shaft or the front PTO pulley.

The accessory chart I have shows a snow blower was not available for the older 860s, prior to 77'. I may be wrong, maybe another member knows better than the information I have.

I paid $200. It came off of a 990 so I knew it would fit. The attached pdf shows the blowers available.

Thanks genefw. Picked it up fairly reasonable. Came with a plow not original equipment but made a mount for it. Runs great. Bought it for a backup to a cub 1861. Recently picked up a Swisher pull behind 60 " mower very cheap. It came with a home made mount for a atv. I fabbed up a offset mount. Really like the 1200 pulling the Swisher.
