Very nice !! It looks like there is no weight bearing on the middle of the frame rails. Is this correct (front and rear are the primary load points)? The earlier pics of the loader prior to installation look like straps that attach in the middle to keep it from flexing side-to-side?

There is a brace in the middle that holds the two up right's together but it does not attach to the frame and yes the front and rear are the primary load points.

Looks good , I realy like the way it mounts,
Did you have to turn the muffler up & how is it operating any fumes?
Don
The FEL cleared the muffler when it was still down faceing to the front of the tractor but I did not like the chance I had on hiting it. I am going to add a pipe to it to make it taller.

It weighs 45 pounds I have more to put on it plus the racecar lead if I need it. There is no ballast in the rear tires and never will be I dont like to load my tires with anything other than wheel weights.

sorry no statue just having some fun.
Rim Guard tire ballast is the only way to add weight. Non corrsivise, freeze point -35 drgree, can be used in a tubless tire and if you get a flat just put a plug in it. Re-air and off you go. You can also add Hydro Seal that is compatiable with Rim Gaurd and the any punchture will be self sealing. Plus the biggy is all that weight is not sitting on your running gear, bearing etc.

I will never put ballast in my tires Its bad for the rim and tire. She will get a weight box just like the ones from the fractory.

Do the research for Rim Guard and will will find that it is the best thing since sliced bread. The ones from the factory had a weight box because it was one more thing that the dealer could sell you.

I dont really know why thay are there other than another place for the arms to go.
Might be that the extra holes on the uprights are for an attachment point for leveling rods. On the Model 14 Johnson, they had additional flat pieces that bolted to the outside of the towers that provided a hole for a clevis end to attach to so the leveling rods would keep the forks level on a pallet fork replacement for the bucket. Just a thought.

I would buy the weight box before I ever put anything in the rear wheels.

Jerome,
What is the distance between the uprights on that Johnson 24 loader?

Also, what is the bucket width?
The bucket is 48''

I dont know off hand what the up rights are.

Up rights are
32 inch in side.
36 1/4 inch out side.

Thanks Jerome, I'll file that as useful information. Unfortunately the guy with the Ford never responded. I am guessing he was inundated with e-mails and has stopped answering them.
