Hello all,

I've been watching eBay and other various sites online but I figured I would try here as well. I am looking for a snow blade and full mounting assembly for a John Deere GX255 garden tractor. I acquired this garden tractor the beginning of this year and was hoping it would be relatively easy to find a plow for it, but it turns out it's not as easy as I thought.

There are a couple listings on eBay for just the blade, but the rest of the assembly is what is giving me problems. I don't really want to purchase new old stock because at that point I'll be spending almost more than I purchased the tractor for and that's assuming I can find a dealer that has the stock. Does anyone have any leads on where I could find one that is going to cost me less than 400 bucks?

Or, are there any universal options out there that would work on this garden tractor? I haven't found anything in specific, but considering the tractor is almost 20 years old at this point, I'm not all that surprised there.

Thanks!

Hi and welcome.

You didn’t say where you are located, but I see that style blade come up fairly regularly in the mid-Atlantic region. (I say “that style” because there are many many models from that era that use a very similar undercarriage/subframe mounting system, and I am not familiar with all the nuances of which exactly are inter-compatible.) Keeping a close watch on craigslist, and patience, might pay off.

Alternatively, you might check with Jims Repair (Tractor Blade - Tractor Front Blade) to see if he has a Berco blade that will work with your model.

Thank you for the suggestion! I'm located in New York state.
