Hey Guy's I have a chance to pick up a a Gravely 432 Tractor for cheap and thought I would ask how good it is as an all around tractor. My intentions would be to put it to work in the yard doing all chores but this tractor has only a deck for mowing and No attachments. Not sure just how hard the gravely stuff is to come by??

I like mine alot, they are very heavy duty tractors. A 432 will have a 14 hp engine and should be quite a work horse. The down side to the 400 series tractors? No hydraulic lift, and they are a little slow. They go plenty fast for me and honestly are as fast as most garden tractors are, just compared to an 800 or 8000 they are slower. On the plus side, they don't comand the high prices that the 800and 8000's do and they have steering brakes. For the most part the attachments are the same for all of the Gravely riders but the shafts will be different for the front attachments, but they are available. Good luck, Ed

I agree there a great tractor. I have a 424 that I got a lot of good use with and recently repowered it. It would be great to have a faster gear but, it's a great worklhorse. With the front lift kit its great for multiple tools. I even put my snow plow on the front lift kit.

...what's wrong with going slower? Personally I wish that my Commercial 10 and LI are about half the speed they are. I've never owned a 432, so I don't exactly know how fast they go, but I love the gearing on my 1238-G (I know...completly different animal) because it goes so slow in first low. For tall grass it does great because you can have it wide open and walk beside it.
