Question is will it fit a JD 425? JD 332?

Looks like it came off of a JD430 and has all the subframe and components?

I guess the real question is, will it fit a JD 425 without modifications? :praying:

Won't fit a 425. If it is off a 430, it will only fit a 430 without modifications.

You need a 40 loader for a 425.

Sounds like a good reason to buy a 430. :)

Btw, I don't think it will even fit a 420 without different a sub frame. Definitely won't fit a 316/318/322/332 with that sub frame.

Correct that it will only work on the 430. The subframes are different with the 430 being longer. And the pump/mounts prevent it from working on a 300 series along with the frame. The loader part of the setup is the same across the models it mounts to though. There was a couple bucket size options as well. And the 430/420 can lift 750 lbs and the 300 series can lift 450 lbs.

Your a Little Bit Off On the Lift Capacities for the 44Loader Between the series
300 series 400Lbs at Max Height
400 series 500Lbs at Max Height
At 36inches of Lift Height The Load Limit Is Far Greater

So I guess locating a subframe is just about as elusive as a good loader.

The pumps are different as well. Volume output is less on the 300 series model, hence the lower lift capacity. I think the pumps turn in different directions as well.

Check that the drive shaft is not wore out. They are a bugger to replace... don't ask me how I know...:banghead3

I know where a 44 loader is that the guy is wanting to sell.........in North Alabama.

3 separate subframe styles:
1. 316/318/322/332
2. 420
3. 430

2 different styles of pumps:
1. 316/318/322/332
2. 420/430

The three separate subframe styles are because each has a different frame length.

The two different pump types are because the pump runs off a belt for a 318 and a shaft for the 420/430.

You have to match the 2 for the tractor you have.

Probably easier to find the loader and then look for the tractor to go with it.

The belt was given to me from the JD parts guy in milimeters and that it wasn't available but converted over it is a very common belt. Just can't remember exact size. One other thing for the 332/330 owners finding one of these. I learned the hard way but a loader mounted on a 318 will need the pump mounts notched out to clear the diesel (and possibly 322) motor mounts. I didn't bring a grinder to notch it out but thankfully the owner had a dremel. The loader I bought was in a barn for around 10 years in VA and the widow decided to sell it and the buyer then sold the loader to me. It was in the rasied possition whent they bought it and the 318 didn't run either. It took 4 of us to get it lifted on the 332 and it was about 1 foot in the air (the bucket). I then learned I had to notch the brackets. Couldn't fit the loader on the trailer unless mounted and wasn't going to haul raised up like that. Got the notches in and the new belt on and it worked great.

Also when buying watch for cracks on the frame and loose joints. Some were abused. Mine was tight thankfully and there was only one thing changed-an added angle iron on the top of the bucket with a hook on it for chains to attach. Cutting edge was great yet even.

I have a 420 with 44 loader. My simple lift test was myself 275# 2 100# JD large tractor wts, and 2 44# GT suit case wts = 563# lifted me nicely to height of the hood. I was thinking if it could go 750 I would like to know how, but at 54 inches wide wheel base the 500+# is probably enough.

I have a custom ballast box on the 3 point of 500#s, that weight is needed if you are going to use the 44 loader with a 2 wheel tractor.

My 2 cents

I will tell you one thing.... you never forget the feeling of having the rear end go light from too much weight in the bucket....:swow: then you start looking for more weight for the back.
