Do you like one brand only, or all the brands?

Sometimes being around fellow tractor enthusiasts, is like going to church. LOL
Theirs is the right one!
Seems like there are a lot of sites dedicated to one brand only of tractor. And, that's not a bad thing.
Those guys get to be real experts on their brand of tractor. They can give a lot of good how to kind of information.
But sometimes, they seem a bit zealous about their brand only. (no offense intended)

I guess, I just kinda like them all... Green, Yellow, Orange, Red...

So, I'm wondering why ya'll like one brand only, or why ya'll like several brands?

Just curious?!

Oh golly, I hope we can discuss this without starting a feud. :duh:

I lean kind of both ways on this. I use several brands even though one brand does most of the work around the place. I'm on my tractors almost every day doing something so I tend to stick with the brand that experiences the least amount of down time and does the most amount of work without problem. That said, I don't know that I've ever met a tractor that I didn't like.:biglaugh: I like them all but, as I said, I tend to lean more toward one or two brands that are proven to be workers. I've not been disappointed in 20 years.

It's kinda like being faithful to a particular ball team. Some you like a lot, some you'll root for when your favorite one isn't playing, and some........well, there's the Dallas Cowboys :biglaugh: , you know , you don't care who's playing them as long as they get the crap beat out of them.

I've been a Deere fan for many years, and what the hey, I just like green and yellow. I'm also a Green Bay fan, and I guess that's why I feel the way I do about Dallas.

I like old Fords, though, and Case and Allis Chalmers, too. Working summers on my uncle's dairy, I sat on all of them. The 530 Case has to be one of my most favorites, though. But if it's my $$$ going into one to work with, I'll go JD. They just do what I need, and I've never had bad troubles from one yet.

I'm a younger guy, but I've used a lot of different brands of tractors and push mowers. With regards to tractors, I grew up riding older Sears tractors. I have a personal history with them and I learned quite about tractors in general just by working on them. Also, I just think they're well built and are solid. I've put those tractors through the paces and they've always performed well compared to some of the others that I've used. That goes for some of the newer Sears-Crafsman tractors that I've had a chance to test out.

Just depends on what you're using them for and how much you're looking to spend on keeping up with them. It's almost insulting and asinine with regards to what certain aftermarket and original parts go for when you look across the board. Good example, Onan engine parts compared to Briggs engine parts. Both are good motors, and some would argue that Onan makes a better motor, but no one in there right mind would shell out $500+ for new carb (or a kit) for one.. Or $200 a pipe for the exhaust.

People will swear by JD's and other brands. I think it's personal preference and what you like personally. I discovered the world of Toro Wheelhorses about two years ago and after restoring one last year, they're easily a close second for me.

I hope I'm not in sighting a brand riot, lol.

I think if you only had one brand, you would be missing a lot.
Variety is the spice of life.

Their all good till their broke then they are all just pieces of junk.. As you can see in my sig I have no particular loyality to the old ones but I kinda do for the stuff I actually use to work with and that is more because of the dealer than the color.

Good answers guys!
Keep 'em coming!

These are my oldies:

John Deere 112
IH Cub 127
Case 222
Wheel Horse raider 12
John Deere 57

...and a 53 year old Craftsman rotary style with a B&S.

Newer stuff includes:

Ariens rear tine tiller w/ Subaru engine
Honda mini tiller
John Deere 14 SB

Last night - working on engine rebuild for WH.
Today - working on wiring issue for Case.

I like them all really, MTD is actually my favorite though I know they are kinda the lowest end mowers in some cases to alot of people, but that is also why I like them, cheap or free in most cases because no one wants them, and I like to be different.

But..there all great brands to me, JDs are fine and dandy, but too expensive to me, I would love to own one though! Murrays are just about as bad as MTDs in alot of cases, then there is all the classics..Case, Wheel horse, White, Allis, all those which are all great mowers/tractors, but hard to find and very expensive...to put it mildly, I like what is cheaper and easier to get the most, but I would love to have some true classics. I love tractors..all of them!!!!

With Lawn Tractors {like what I own}, or as I call them "driveable lawn mowers", I'm partial to Murray. No that is not a typo, I actually wrote Murray :D . Very underrated machine in my book. I Like my new Craftsman YS 4500 so far. As far as Garden Tractors I love them all. I don't own one yet, I'm still new to the older machines but am picking up info here and there.

I left home one day last fall to buy a Simplicity Regent. When I got to the dealership I spotted a Snapper L200,a leftover new machine. He said $500. less than the Regent. I took the Snapper and love it. Money talks and brand loyalty walks.

I've had a Murray14/42, MTD 990, WheelHorse Charger 10, 1964 JD 110RF, 425 Deere, JD X585SE, JD 2305 and an Ingersoll 318LGT. All have had their good and bad points.Growing up on the farm we had Farmall's, Case row crop tractors and Wheelhorse & Case GT's for mowing and yard/garden chores. I like them all. slkpk

I voted for all brands. My 3 main tractors are all Deere, but I am looking for a really cheap tube frame Bolens, I would never say not to a IH Cub Cadet if the deal was right, and I also often check out Case/Ingersol, tractors, Massey Fergusons, Simplicities, and even the occasional MTD product. I actually own a battered and abused MTD that I got for free because I wanted the wheel weights.

I will use anything I can get at a reasonable price. No brand loyalty except to the Cowboys and the Rangers.

All brands for me,
Im new to this hobby & It started with a newer husky,& thats what got
me hooked. The brain told me recently that it likes older GT's.
Brand name doesn't matter old stuff is just plain cool.

I wouldn't say I like em all, simply because I haven't owned all the brands. For me brand is less important than workabilty. Obviusly if you look at my sig, I have a preference, but it's only a preference. I spent all day yesterday on my mtd 990 and the better part of today on my 63 jacobsen. 2 days ago it was my homemade. If it is old and tough, I'm all over it, as long as it was dirt cheap or free. I've never spent more than $300 on a gt, and most were either free or less than $50.

Past gt's include a case444, old cubs, amung others. Besides the gravelys in my sig I own my homemade, a 72 Gt 12 jake, a 63 jake, MTD990, Cub 123, sears 8xl and probably something I forgot about.
