I saw it online before I left work yesterday. "Free riding mower, I pit in a new battery and it still won't start. $50.00 if you want the battery or I'm returning it to the store. So I called and stopped on the way home from work. It was a little john deere rer with a bagged. According to the woman that was getting rid of it, it stopped running last fall so she let it sit and bought the battery this spring to get it going again. When she put it in and turned the key only to have nothing happen she decided she was going to get a different rider.
She was retired and I could tell that she was on a limited income so I started to feel like I was taking advantage.
I took my screwdriver out of my pocket, reached under the seat and jumped the solenoid. Immediately the little guy came to life. She stood there in disbelief and I explained what I had done and that it would be a simple fix. I stopped today after work with a solenoid that I had sitting on the shelf and installed it for her. She tried to pay me but I told her that I couldn't accept money for something so simple. Then the fresh baked chocolate chip cookies came out and I just couldn't say no to those..........
