I saw a 2010 X320 for sale on Craigslist with the 47 inch John Deere snowblower on it. Is the 47 blower too big for the X320? I thought that maybe the 44 blower would be a better fit and size for that tractor. Anybody have any input on this. 4 weights and chains are included.

sure the 47" is accurate?? (lots of typos on CL)

according to the JD web site the blower for the x320 is 44" and those are 2-stagers too! (heavier)

I emailed the guy and asked him the same question about size and he said it was the 47. Seems too big too me but he should know what blower he has, I hope???

The JD brochure shows only the 44" available for X300-series, with the 44" and 47" both compatible on the X500 series (it's a different 47" blower, though, from the one used on X700 series).

The X320 engine isn't that much less powerful than an X500 -- it's the same displacement even. Maybe they just figured out a way to make the larger 47" from the X500 series work on that X320?

Or, maybe it IS too big, and that's why they're selling it? :D

But no reason you couldn't sell the 47" blower and swap over to the 44", I suppose.

The 47 blower from the X500 series will work on the the X300 series But I bet it's a pain to lift even with the spring assist That is why Deere does not recommend it for use on the X300 series or the Manual spring assisted X500 models. We use to have a X360 owner on the forum that had a 47inch Blower on his X360 which would be fine because it has Hydraulic lift:thThumbsU

Surfing Craigslist recently in the northeast area, I've seen an X3 series listed with a 47" blower as well. Im wondering if it is the same add you've seen...gotta link? Im 99% sure the one I saw was a typo/owner error cause the blower mounted on the X3 in the picture was a 44" and not a 47" (different auger and gear box).

Same ad, I think the guy got his measurements mixed up as I think the dealer would probably only sell a 44 blower for the X320. As I said before, I emailed him and 47 was the answer. I guess a close up picture of the blower would tell us the truth.

The 47" blower is definitely more heavy duty, and like said before it's the same configuration (pulley/belt) as the 44".
Do you think the 47 blower is too big for an X320 to handle easily without lifting issues or driveability?

I don't think it's a size or engine HP issue, but as mentioned above it's just the physical lifting of the blower that is going to be tough without hydraulics. There is the electric lift assist that Deere sells separately that would probably be necessary to make it workable. Anyone know if the actuator is heavy duty enough to lift the 47" instead of the 44"?

Not really supposed to use 4 suitcases on an X300 series either.

Just curious, is that not only 168 pounds on the back of the X320 with a TT K58 tranny. I have 165 pounds of Berco weights on my LA165 K46 which I got right from the JD dealer and seems to be a good balance. 4 suitcase weights are probably needed to balance the extra weight for the 47 blower.

Thats a good ? Wizzo. I asked my dealer and he could not tell me.That would be nice if the new electric lift would work with the 47" blower. It would push me over to sell my walk behind blower and look at getting the 47" with the electric lift.

I don't think the lifting is an issue because the lift spring assist could be "crank up" for more lift capacity. (see picture)

If you search the forum you'll find many X300 and X500 owner that have to "release" the tension on the spring to prevent the 44" blower to glide over the snow.

The weight difference between the two blower is about 50 LBS if I'm not mistaken.

Stladrill....looks like there is one setting left according to your diagram which is also for the 48 blade. Do you think that extra 50 lbs is too much for the front of that tractor considering even the X500 tractors usually take the 44 blower most of the time.

The thing I worry about most with my heavy Berco blower on my Craftsman is the wear and tear steering and front axle components while carrying the blower in the up position. I don't know if that would be a major issue with the JD X320.

I'm curious, too - how did you get that much weight on the back of your LA165? It's only set up to take two 42 lb JD weights. Are the Berco weights each heavier? Did you modify the bracket take 4 weights? I'd love to put more weight on mine - I have some slippery spots that would be easier with some extra weight.

And to those who are tempted: please refrain from K46 bashing - I am aware of the limitations/failure issues and am taking appropriate precautions!
