we started to skid on a patch of ice. when my mom tried to correct the truck we went sideways with the drivers side of the truck leading into a telephone pole. the pole snapped in half and the live power lines fell onto the truck. we were only doing 25MPH when the truck wrecked. my mom was driving. my mom and I are sore as all get out and I have 6 stitches in my forehead. the paramedic said we are lucky to be alive and not have gotten electricuted. as soon as I regained focus I climbed out of the truck and limped up to the near-by and had them call 911. we both walked away alive so I guess you could say it was a good day. Oh BTW the truck was a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 Sport with a 5.9L Cummins diesel

Wow,...glad you okay!

Good to hear you're both alright. As said, the truck can be replaced, you and your mother cannot.

thanks everyone... the paramedics took me to the hospital first cause I was able to get out on my own and my mom was stuck in the truck. the first thing I wanted to hear was my mom was out of the truck and on her way to the hospital. she is lucky the she only has a lot of bruises and is just sore. me and my father went to look at the truck earlier to take pictures of the damage and all I can say is we are some lucky SOB's. my parents insurance company still hasn't looked at the truck... but looking at the damage (the left front axle tube snapped off of the center pumpkin and jammed the oil pan into the crank shaft of the engine :( and all the other damage) I would say its totaled

Glad to hear you and your mom are safe. Tomorrow you both will be very stiff. It must be the dodges, I wrecked a 2010 Dodge crew cab with a cummins last Febuary. It was very scary after looking at the pile of rubble. Mine is probly a little worse than yours though. I walked away as well. If the pics are too much I can remove.

Glad you and your mother is OK. It's probably a good thing you were in that big truck. Wouldn't want to be in a beer can they call a car nowadays and hit a utility pole.

You walked away from that? Wow! Just goes to show how well vehicle engineers have designed cars so that in the event of a crash all the energy goes around the passenger cabin instead of through it like it did years ago! I rolled our 2002 Alero with my whole family inside,......ended up landing on the roof of the car! Everyone walked away from that with only my wife having a slight headache and a small scratch on her head! Amazing,...a little help from the man upstairs was probably involved!:praying::praying:

Wow, you guys are lucky to walk away! Happy to hear you are doing well!

here's some pics I took with my Nintendo DSI XL when my father and I went to go take personal items out of the truck... Not as bad as yours was Noble (body work wise) but ours has major mechanical damage It doesn't look the bad in my photo's but I couldn't get a good shot of the undercarriage of the truck. the front axle was also shoved to the right when we hit the pole. the funny thing is a few month age my dad busted one of the rear wheel center caps by jumping the curb in a parking lot and and my mom gave my dad **** for that one, but when we looked at the truck yesterday the front wheel the snapped off when it hit the pole... the wheel was bent but the center cap didn't even have a stratch on it. I told my mom that and it did make her laugh although she is really sore (bruised ribs and a lot of other minor injuries). but heres the pictures of the truck...

When I wrecked mine I had 97 hours for the week already, and got called in at 11:00 on a Sunday night (Valentines Day). I fell asleep, went off the roadway, and hit a feild entrance shooting me in the air....28 feet after the truck went airborn I took out a telephone pole 8 foot off the ground...continued 41 feet in the air after pole then came down on the passenger front quarter...(yeah thats 69 feet in the air with that leadsled) I went end over end one time, then barrell rolled 5 to 7 times. So they tell me...I have no idea what happened. I was asleep the whole time until landing. I climbed out the windsheild and walked down the road until I met an on coming car that took me to help. I just had a cut on my forehead and was fine. The pictures of mine look good compared to actually walking around the truck and seeing the extent of the damage. The most amazing part is the truck had driver, passenger, and those fancy side/rear curtain airbags. Not one airbag deployed! Must not have thought it was that bad of an accident?

Well Its been over a month. The insurance company decided to fix my mom's truck, but the frame was bent in the accident. Which makes no sence because I thought once the frame was bent that the vehicle had to be totaled. On top of that, as of right now it's gonna cost $18,000.00 to fix. although it could be more because they still aren't done fixing it. the told us the estimated finish time is March 14th. I love that truck, not only is it my favorite color but in it's bone stock form, if we pull red light and another vehicle (ex. Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, short bed with a hemi) pulls up beside us. If we floor our truck, well I have only two words... NO TRACTION... :thThumbsU I hope the fix it correctly.
