I dunno, but it sure looks like a tough unit, built to last forever. Quite a find. Apparently it's a wholly commercial brand. I'll bet someone at the company could tell you all about it:

Ryan was OMC's commercial lawn care line, very good quality. They also made Lawn Boy (which explains the choice of engine) as well as Johnson, Evinrude, Cushman, Pioneer and who knows what else. That is a cool find, first Ryan I have seen with a 2 stroke engine.
