Well I guess I helped stimulate the economy some today when I put a deposit on this 16’ 10,000lb. GVWR trailer. I will pick it up sometime next week. I have to get my pickup wired for a seven wire plug and install a brake controller. This trailer has brakes on both axles and is way overkill for my JD2305 TLB but I plan on getting a bigger TLB down the road. This is not a fancy trailer but I wanted it strong enough and reasonably priced. I was impressed with its build and the welding. It’s made by Superior Trailers of GA and I feel it was a good bang for the buck. I had driven over 300 miles looking at tractors and trailers this week so I needed to make a decision and quit looking. Surprisingly the dealer said he had been pretty darn busy since the snows and is having a hard time keeping trailers on the lot. He had just gone to GA on Monday and brought back three trailers because he couldn’t wait for a normal tractor trailer delivery due to brisk business. My 5 ton just happened to be one of the ones he brought back with him. I started to get a 7,000lb dual axle with just one braking axle but after dwelling on it decided to go bigger. That gives me some elbow room for a future tractor purchase. I decided against going longer because 16’ (since this is not a commercial deal) is enough for just a CUT TLB. My son and I will be sharing time with my tractor and my JDX540 with a Cyclone Rake Vacuum system trailer. I can also now haul my vacuum system by my parent’s home and help them out with the leaves this fall. The trailer pic is from their web site and not the actual photo of mine. :fing32:
