They look sort of like the nozzles on the back of the Delorean in "Back to the Future". Maybe it's a time machine.

 

Yes, counter rotating blades and one little blade in the middle. I've seen one in person. I think MTD. Almost looks like and alien lawn mower.

 

The seller emailed me and said it was a Montgomery Wards tractor.Thought maybe a wagon went behing to collect debris.
