You don't need to ask. If you have completed a transaction within the last 90 days, eBay will send you the full contact information on file with them. Just go do a search on their help function.

I would light a fire under the guy. Send him an e-mail saying that you want his number and mailing address and that you would like to speak over the phone asap. Just so he doesn't decided to sit on your e-mail, tell him that if you don't receive a response by the end of today, you're filing a claim with e-bay and you're putting a flag/stop on your payment.

Personally, I would've filled a claim by now.

First thing, send him a email. Tell him that you are immediately filling out a dispute through eBay. Second go to Pay Pal and fill out a dispute with them. Then if you don't hear from him dispute it through eBay. Money talks!
I had a deal. Gal shipped me a broken part. I emailed her back and told her about it. She said, too bad, you should have bought insurance! Then I told her she shipped it. It's up to the seller to make sure it gets to the buyer the way its described. If it's not, fill out a dispute on pay Pal and eBay. Yeah, I got my money back. That's when you fill out your feed back. After you receive your package. You have to be firm with some of these people.:goodl:

No, I haven't heard anything else. If I don't hear anything by 8:00 pm EST then I'm contacting Ebay/paypal.

My only thinking now is what kind of hassle is ebay/paypal going to give me for waiting a month and a half.

So do we need to pay this guy a visit or what???

Not that it has any bearing on the problem being discussed here, but since people are also tossing out suggestions about what shipping company does what . . .FedEx also has a division called FedEx Freight.
They handle real freight. Heavy, bulky stuff on pallets, etc. They have freight depots in many major cities. I use them for iron balusters and such when I order from King Metals. Just an FYI for those sending/receiving stuff like transaxles, snowblowers, etc.

I buy and sell on ebay and would file an

'item not received' dispute with ebay NOW.

Assuming you haven't passed the deadline, the filing will assure your rights if it never comes and you can close it without a black mark on either of you if it does.

If you wait too long, I think 45 days, ebay / paypal will not help.

It has already been long enough that the item is not available to view, I just tried.

The problem may be that shipping it all together makes it over the limit for FEDEX/UPS and requires truck freight. However, he can probably remove the tires and wheels and ship in two containers using Fedex or UPS.
:ditto: :ditto: :ditto: :ditto:

I've got 11 years experience and over 1,000 ebay transactions under my belt and NOTHING about this situation is right. File a claim right now.

frig ebay dispute processes. Contact law enforcement in his local and tell them you suspect MAIL FRAUD. Unless this guy is very sick or has experienced a very real tragedy then all you can assume is that he is in the process of stealing from you. If there is a reasonable excuse the sheriff will let you know if not a sheriff's report will make refund through your CC easy.

I would'nt suggest this course of action be taken lightly but alot of time has passed and it don't take long for someone to develop expensive addictions.

When dealing on line both sellers and buyers have a responsibilty to each other to maintain a level of communication that does not leave any one feeling vulnerable. Common decency really.

I would'nt doubt that alot of sellers get in over thier heads and have thier credit card company take funds on payment that are needed to ship items.

frig ebay dispute processes.
I hear where you are coming from, but to file takes literally 30 seconds and will at the very least freeze the sellers paypal account for the amount in question.

I'm curious as to if this seller has items listed now?

You should dispute this with Pay-Pal, and Ebay as soon as humanly possible. Contacting law enforcement is a big waste of time. They never do jack $&!*.

say mail fraud
Been there, done that. I've had my share of fraud cases, and the cops didn't even follow up, or did they bother call me back.

I had a guy pull a bait and switch on me once. He would not return any of my emails. I spent the whole evening that night googling the info that I had on him. His name, street address, ect. I found several people in the same town as him with his last name, and I had a friend of mine start calling them. The first number he called was a guy not related, that knew the scammer guys folks. My buddy made small talk with the guy and wound up getting the scammer guys mothers phone number. Its now ten o'clock at night, and my friend calls this guys mother. She answers, and my friend talking in a dead serious tone, tells this poor lady how her son commited mail fraud, and how he was in serious trouble because he had committed a felony. The next morning I had two emails from this guy asking me for my address so he could send me a money order. My friend has balls of steel. :ROF

say mail fraud
I don't think a charge of mail fraud would be applicable anyway, being that payment was made electronically and the item would be shipped via a freight company other than usps. Now, if the payment was made via snail mail, especially with a Postal money order, then the Postal Inspector would get involved. I'm afraid I have to agree the police will not do a thing.

Now credit card fraud, that may be a different story........

This sellers scam seems to be to jerk the buyer around until it is too late to dispute the transaction.

Since the clock is ticking on the time limit for filing a dispute with Ebay, do it now! You still have the options of contacting law enforcement, but soon you will not be able to use Ebay's or PayPal's system (not commenting on how effective those could or could not be).

Just filing the dispute might light a fire under your seller to get things shipped. It will freeze his funds as already stated.

Do not give feedback until after this situation is completely settled -- I am not sure, but once you give feedback some of your options and remedies are gone as well. And, the feedback system on Ebay is a joke now with all the changes made to it, but getting a strike from a dispute will make a difference.

Keep us updated on how things are working out.

Without asking for specific names, where is this seller from and is he a power seller? Process of elimination could assist others from getting jammed up with this seller in the future.

I have to agree mail fraud is for the US mail not paypal ebay owns paypal so you should file a claim asap. If paid by a cc through paypal file a claim with your cc holder also they should push paypal to resolve the issue.

OK here's the latest... I've been out of town since Fri evening.

I did file a dispute on Friday afternoon, I never heard from the guy. I got an email from him today with a UPS freight number, he said it went out on Friday. He also said he's quit doing business on ebay due to such problems with shipping... I checked and his user ID does say he's no longer a member. So I guess I'm back and the wait and see stage. I do have a shipping/confimation number from UPS freight and it does register. I emailed this to ebay also to let them know...
