STX38, mounting a larger deck?

I purchased an STX38 last fall and want to say thank you all for the info I got when I last posted with a question which brings me back to ask another!

I've been constantly enlarging my lawn and where the 38" deck worked well it's slowly becoming too small for the lawn as its taken me what my smaller lawn used to take me to mow with a pusher.

I've done a bit of research but had some more questions. I actually wasn't aware that an STX46 was made and from what I've read a yellow 46" deck will fit on my 38? I also have a yellow deck.

If I can swap these decks, is there any modification required?

PS. I have a bagger system for my mower, if I can mount a larger deck will the chute still work or does the deck have a wider opening?

There was never a yellow deck stx46...only black deck. There were enough changes between yellow deck and black deck Stx38's that a black 46 won't work. If you has a black deck stx38, it would be possible. But again, you would need that specific stx46 deck.

So want it sounds like is that the stx46 only came in a black deck however if I could find a 46" yellow deck it would work from another model?

I have no idea what Sergeant was suggesting in that thread! Perhaps a 46" deck from a 116/180/185 will fit, but I've never seen or heard of it.

HP issue to run large decks would be the bigger issue
