Hi,
I have a Simplicity 1994 Broadmoor 38-14 (Tractor Mfg #162279 / Mower Mfg # 38"/1691704 ) that started to lose forward power after about 1 hour of mowing yesterday. Once it cooled, I was able to finish the grass and everything seemed normal for power. Is there a way to check the transmission fluid and/or add fluid to the transmission? Or do I need to get a new transmission? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have an older Simplicity - 1970 3212H - but what you describe sounds like a lack of transmission fluid in the hydrostatic transmission. (Mine has leaked for the past 10 years or so and needs to be refilled every other month.) The manual will tell you what type of fluid you need. Mine goes into an upright cylinder under the seat that is held shut with a nut on a threaded rod. YMMV.
