Hello!

Glad to be a new member of the MyTractorForum!

Looking for instructions on how to replace the 3 glow plugs in my JD 4100. I understand this is a JD with a Yanmar engine. I have had no luck finding any step by step instructions or an old repair manual. Done spark plugs in gas engines plenty, but never glow plugs for a diesel. Don't want to muck it up so any help or advice is appreciated! Thanks!

The procedure for changing glow plugs is not much different from changing spark plugs. First of course you need to identify the glow plugs, #28 in diagram. Then remove the nuts holding the wires on the glow plugs. Then use a socket to remove the glow plugs. It is possible you will need to remove some other parts first to access the glow plugs. I believe on the 4100, the air cleaner housing sits on top of engine and removing that may be necessary.

Hello JD110,

Thanks for the procedure and thumbnail, very much appreciated. I tried to print the thumbnail at a larger size, but it loses all resolution and cannot be read. Any chance you have the drawing at a larger size?
Do you have your glasses on!!:fing20::sorry1:

Any time you want to tweak an image size (ie- any .jpg file) you can rightclick in the image and save it to your hard disk. Pay attention to where in your file system you save the image (C:\Users\Documents.. ETC.. Write it down!) as you must then find the file and, once found, right click on it and use one of your available programs on your machine (A list will show to open it.. Photoshop or Powerpoint or Paint are a few) to resize and print your picture @ a more user-friendly resolution.. Hopefully this makes some sense to ya.. Just FYI..:fing32: :goodl:

Welcome to the forum! :Welcome1: Thanks jd110. If you follow his links (you may need to log in for free) you will need to key in your model and get to the engine breakdown. :)
