Hello,
My name is Tom and I'm new to the MyTractorForum. I can already tell that I'll be able to learn a lot about my 1989 John Deere 420 Garden Tractor or my most recent find, a 1614 Power King. Thanks to all who have posted this treasure trove of information on all the vintage tractors. The PK 1614 is a 1975 one-owner tractor with both transmissions, hydraulic lift, and 3-point hitch that also came with a rototiller attachment. It had been sitting for 5 years and after cleaning the gas tank and rebuilding the carb, it came to life once again. It runs good and doesn't smoke....I'm happy! I'm about half way thru restoring the JD 420. I have new decals but just need a new paint job (hope to have by Spring).
I've been retired for a few years and enjoy the time spent on the two tractors.
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of what you're doing!
Tom
P.S. Attached is a photo of the 1614 the day that I brought it home.
