Here are some pics of my B-12 ongoing project.

I had an idea about making a two speed belt drive that didn't work out well. Because I modified a few things on the original rear end and the BGB was shot, I swapped in a rear I had from what I think was an earlier Simplicity 2010 Landlord. I had to modify a few things to work with the later B-12 parts.

I should be able to install a hydro lift by the end of the year. I'm also in the process of rebuilding a 16hp iron Briggs for it. The 12 runs great, it's almost like new, but I want to upgrade to a newer hardened exhaust valve engine. Also the 16 came in the 2010 that the rear came out of.

I've got Bolens wheel weights on it and I'm looking for a set of Cub Cadet weights to mount on the inside of the rims.

I would like to upgrade it with a high-low gear box, and the right hand lift.

I'm in the process of doing all the mechanical work this winter and next spring, kind of as I go, but I think I'm going to tear it apart next winter and paint it and make it look pretty.

nice B-12 :fing32:

Wheel weights are no name iron Bolens. They made them with the Bolens name cast in, then with FMC cast in, and finally with no name.

Here are a few more pics highlighting the not so obvious modifications, the wiring.

The two wires coming through the grill are for an electric clutch that will be able to be added after I put the 16 hp. motor in. I just added this wiring last night.

All functions are controlled by relays through the key switch so if the key is off and you forget to turn off a switch it won't kill the battery. Also the key switch is a reproduction Lucas like what was used in the Shelby Cobra, dad had one laying around from a previous customer's project.

Thanks to Mike AKA Burntime for the hydro-lift and spare tiller PTO. It was a pleasure to meet you.

I should also thank Tom for the tiller and PTO that is on the tractor now and some other stuff, and Chris for the correct Allis snow thrower, IDK if they read on here or not but if they do it was also a pleasure meeting both of you.

Thanks, Nate

After playing in the dirt for a while today, I decided to get here ready for winter. So off came the tiller and on went the snow thrower.

Then I mounted an old tool box I found on the seat rest to hold my hitch pins and other miscellaneous stuff. I also put the chains on.

Image

Then just for $#!?'s and giggle's I decided to mount up the tattered and worn out Original Cab Company cab.

She looks ready for "Snowmageddon"!!!!! :snowing:

Finally was able to pick up some Cubby Cadet wheel weights for the B-12. Now I've got 75lbs per wheel. I'm also hoping to find a stinger and doughnut for a little extra weight.

Got stinger and doughnut weights from Josh, TalntedMrGreen on the board; yesterday. I got a chance to install them last night. If you put the lift in float you can push the rear weight down and easily lift the blower.

I've also got a set of generic wheel weights for the front wheels I'm going to install later today.

Then I found an old power window motor on a shelf, so I'm going to build an electric spout control. I have one more available circuit in my wiring harness.

I'll basically copy the factory option for the later model snow throwers.

Very nice! I'm diggin the inner weights...been tempted to try just that.

The counterweight option works really well on these tractors. It's prefectly suited for running a blower, especially if you have a gravel drive, or blow over turf (I do in a few spots). It really floats lightly, and avoids biting into the surface. Takes the load off your hydrolift too, and makes a manual lift feather lite.

The Cub weights fit nice but I needed 5/16" spacers because I didn't want to clearance the weights.

Built an electric spout rotator out of stuff I had laying around the shop.

The motor is controlled by a switch/relay box mounted next to the engagement rod. I made the box a little bigger than necessary for expansion later.

I used it a little bit this afternoon and so far it works great. It has the perfect speed, not to fast or to slow.

My photo hosting site (Fotki) has moved their servers to a new location, they are in the process of bringing them back online right now. That is why my pictures are being sporadic, some show up some don't. They should be back soon.
