LX188 grease fitting? And Owners manual?

I had a LX172 and it had grease fittings underneath the deck so you could grease the mower blade bearings.

Well I the LX 188 (3 blade deck) that I now have I did not see any fittings underneath. Does any one know if there are any fittings? If so where? BTW, I do not have an owner manual. So I'm at a bit of a disadvantage. BTW,anyone know if we can still get old owners manuals? Or if there are pdf of them online?

Thanks
Alan

The deck should have grease fittings on top of the spindles, just above the sheaves (pulleys). There's also a grease fitting on the belt idler on most JD decks. You may have to remove the belt covers to see if yours has that fitting and to access it.

You can order manuals from Deere, either printed or on CD. As far as downloading Deere manuals goes, there are no authorized versions available for download that I'm aware of.

FYI, I found out when I stopped at a JD dealer that here are no grease fittings on the spindles. Just another example of the JD enginneers--or more likley the bean counters there cheapening the JD name by a stupid decisions like this. :banghead3 BTW, the relacement spindles do have a grease fitping.
