Hello everyone, im new here, already posted in the Snapper forum, im a Snapper and a Deere Newbie.... Thanks to Craigslist, my new addiction, I find all sorts of things I never knew I needed... anyhow......
Ive bought an old MT, not sure of the year yet, it hasnt been delivered so i dont have access to the serial number. I was curious as I cruise the net for information, I see allllll sorts of information on A's, B's, R's, Orchard's, Trackers, and more, but very little information on the MT.
I was wondering why this is? Have I bought a dud, or something that no one likes for one reason or another? I loved the size, the clutch pedal instead of a handle, and live PTO over the A and B models. Also the MT was made in smaller numbers than the A and B.
Also Ive noticed that my engine is positioned more forward on the chassis than the A and B, and only Pop Pop's when its under a load, otherwise it runs very smooth. It would appear to me that the MT is a perfect mix between a newer model tractor and the antiques that everyone loves so much. Mine doesnt have the external belt pullies, and flywheels near the running boards either. So maybe one answer to my earlier question is that its too new?? They these were made from 49-52, so it doesnt seem new to me.
Anyway, would love to have opinions, and any advice. I bought as a running project, She runs but needs some work here and there. Thanks again, sorry for the long winded post.
