I got a 3-Bin Bagger finally!!

I was looking at the amount of pine needles (pine straw) that has already dropped and was dreading the many trips I would have to make with my sweeper this fall. Even though the sweeper does a great job, it doesnt have the capacity to carry very many needles. Consequently that adds up to a lot of trips.

So after much deliberation, today I finally broke down and purchased the 3-Bin Bagger attachment for my GT5000. It took only minutes to attach and I was off and mowing. All I have to say is....what was I thinking for having waited so long to buy this!! :thThumbsU

This takes cutting the lawn to a whole new level. It doesn't stir up no where near as much dust, and takes the noise level down a little, and it leaves the lawn looking nice. I am very pleased with the look of the lawn after cutting and at the ease of using this bagger attachment. I had to empty it only three times for the grass around my house and the island in my driveway. The bag farthest from the chute discharge fills up first, but you can jump off and slide that bag off the tracks and slide an emptier one in its place and be on your way again. I still have to do around the shop and the barn and I'm guessing that emptying another 2 times at the most. I have another great compost pile started close to the yard. :thThumbsU

Oh yeah....I have a sweeper for sale! :sidelaugh

How about the clutch on you Ford?? Any trouble getting it unstuck??
I enjoy cutting the lawn anyway...this adds to the enjoyment.

Haven't had the time or the weather to work on it. I'm working the early shift on M,T,W maybe I can get it out in the field then. Have had clutch blocked since I discovered it..Hopefully it hase eased away from the flywheel some.

Randy--the bagger you just got, I suppose from Sears--are the bins/bags solid? Reason I'm asking is I used one like that last year, and the chute kept getting clogged up, and I couldn't tell until the next pass and then I saw the clumps...

The bins are bags...From what I understand, the solid ones are not available anymore. There is a little spinning indicator on the chute that lets you know when your full or clogged.

Both hard and soft are available:

I've had the dual hard bag since I bought the tractor in 2000. They work great for mowing, but I found the sweeper, on my lawn/drive works better. I don't have that many pine needles, though, as most of my trees are Maple and evergreens.

Nice attachment, and well worth the investment. Be sure to keep the vent, on the tube side of the bagger top, cleaned and the flow will stay smooth.

Probably still riding around the house on his GT5000 w/ bagger trying to get those pine needles before the first snow ROF
Sadly..I can picture that....riding around and around ever watchful to the skies, just waiting for some pine needles to fall and then makes a mad dash out to collect them.....

Hmmm, I need to follow this as my DGT6000 won't pick up my pine needles at all. It does great on grass. quite good on leaves (maple, apple and others).

Drive under the austrian pines, and the mower to chute opening is plugged. They don't even make it into the chute.

Oh, mine is from '93 and has the hard bags.
