I have the same problem and replacement coils for 1200 watt 2 stroke energizer only show coils with 2 primary connections, mine has an extra wire, do you know how to test these coils before I buy a replacement and find out the problem is in the ignitor board! I did a volt test and getting voltage to the coil when cranking, just not sure what the signal is suppose to be!a ground?

so you must have module gone or pickup coil!you can put a voltmeter on coil input wires and see if your getting anything to the coil from module.or put it on the pickup coil and see if your getting anything, I'm getting about 5 volts from pickup coil and 22 volts to coil input. I can't find a module for mine, there are retro fits ,but this genset isn't worth spending more than $30. It was given to me from a fellow that bought a Honda because this one was intermittent, apparently that issue is solved it quit completely!
I would still like someone to answer the question about signal from module I can't seem to find anything about the module operation other than putting a testlight on the signal wire and watch for it to flash, this unit doesn't have 12v. onboard, so I'd likely have to use a battery powered continuity tester!
