I am on the hunt for a garden tractor, but I am quite unfamiliar with Kubota models. So, sorry for the newbie questions. I have always been a Deere guy, but there is a Kubota G6200 for sale near me that caught my eye. Does the G6200 support a front blade with down pressure? Is there a 3 pt hitch and rear PTO available for the G6200?

Welcome to orange fever!

To me, the Kubota line is very confusing. The "G" series did follow a pattern but most of the other model numbers seem to skip around. I've looked for a book that gave an overview of the very popular tractor company and it's products, but to no avail. I think it would be a fascinating read.

The three point hitch is not native to the G6200 but I understand kits were sold many years ago. Someone might have a retrofit that would line up with some work. Same thing on the PTO, nonstandard. The frame on that series is hefty, but it's all sheet metal on the backend. Heavy sheet, but not a casting.

I have a G3200 and G6200, and they are fundamentally the same. Kubota refined the G series with the 6200, it has a an additional cylinder, a larger deck, and with the addition of the HST pump (5200 & 6200) it also has a hydraulic lift for the deck. Kubota overbuilt the G3200 and refined as the series developed. Not under built, but not the tank the G3200 was.

As far as the front blade, if that was ever a stock part number (don't know) they would be scarce. I doubt they were because the G6200 does not have a quick-coupling, at least mine does not.

I was interested in putting a small bucket on the G6200 and was told two things, one is the pump volume on that machine has a flow rate that is ideal for what it is doing (driving the rear wheels) but too low to move a bucket at speed, and two those who have afixed a bucket will need a donor Kubota for spare parts.
