Seems like he took it in for repairs. They said one cylinder had 180 psi the other had 60

It was not a JD dealer and they said they could not buy parts for the Kohler Command 25 HP

You can get parts for a Kohler Command. I suspect the place he brought it didn't want to fix it. I would look into fixing it. Roger

 

I know you can get them. They charged him $278 to tear it down. They wanted to put a new motor in it. He paid the bill and gave it to me

Do a leakdown test and for possible head gasket blown. It looks to be worth the fix.

 

The place that worked on it took the head off the bad cylinder, i have it and everything that goes with it in a box.

I had to leave fir a 2 weeks, when I return I'm going to look for parts. The company that did the work said they could not buy parts for it.

The valves look new, the gasket is gone. The machine was running really good, it just has a terrible oil leak. Do you think it needs rings? Or just a new gasket?
