165936 Lawn Tractor Ground Drive Fixed Idler Pulley
42" 2001. I am in getting ready to replace it - I found it trashed and had lost a big piece, enough that belt will not stay on. .I see it is indeed 'fixed' in place but I notice right now it does not rotate. My question is, shouldn't it? Is it maybe seized, or maybe it's not supposed to rotate? though that seems unlikely..Anyway, if anyone knows more about this I would appreciate your commnents? thanks

idler pulleys must rotate !! if they're seized , the bearings are shot , replace it. !!...SEARS PARTS DIRECT WILL HAVE THE NUMBERS !!! DON'T ORDER FROM PARTS DIRECT unless you like paying 4 times what it's worth !!! the sears number will work on the amazon prime WEB SITE AND THE PRICES ARE WAY CHEAPER FOR THE SAME SOURCED STUFF .!!!

The bulk of the idlers are the same size I used to carry around 100 & now I have dropped back to around 30
What is different and makes a massive difference to the price is the bush in the middle of the bearing
SO you push the old one out then fit it to a generic pulley with no bush.
THe difference wholesale is about 100%

Sears parts direct numbers work on E Bay as well.
However I bought a deck clutch for my 22 HP GT and the clutch that came bolted right up.
Went to put the tractor transmission drive belt on, had to drop the clutch off the engine shaft before it would clear the clutch housing.
Can't remember now, I do remember the new one was packaged in Husqvarna packaging.
I will wind up trimming the housing down on the deck clutch so I can change the tractor drive belt.

If I remember right Sears wanted 300 for the clutch and it was back ordered, I got it off E Bay for 99 dollars in two days.
