Ford 641 Workmaster 3 point problems

Hi all, I recently purchased a 641 work master from my father in law. I was bushhogging with it and noticed when I pulled the lever up to raise the 3 PH the bushhog trailing wheel just barely clears the ground. I found the selector lever under the seat to change from draft to position. My question is does the lever turn full 90° from horizontal to vertical and lock in? It stops about 85° and hits spring pressure. If I hold it back against the spring pressure the lift arms go all the way up but as soon as I release the lever it drops back down to just above the ground. Thanks!

The mode control lever should rotate approximately 90 degrees between draft control mode (lower position) and position control mode (upper position) and should hold its position in either orientation. Your symptoms sound like there are worn and/or out of adjustment pieces in the internal control linkage, most likely at least a worn cam follower pin. I recommend that you do a full R&R on the lift cover. The procedures are in both the Ford Factory Service Manual and the third party I&T Service Manual.
