Does anyone use a bagger for their DGS6500? I heard from previus review on-line that the 3 bagger unit is a piece of Cr@p... does not bag properly.. any suggestions? what else can I use? :fing20:

Hey guys.. I installed the bagger today and mowed the fron of my house... great bagger.. did not clog up and filled the three bins evenly.. I was suprised abou the filling issue.. I cut the lawn under the setting of #5, since my lawn was not cut since last September.. It was thrill.. first time mowing the lawn.. I've laready put 1.3 hours on the tractor today and was only for the front of the house.. maybe tomo is the weather is decent, I'll finish teh rest of the property... dumped the bagger at least 5 times.. I was expectiing a bigger bagging bushel... I do believe the bagger isw a good unit.. when the grass is kept up to a minimal... I did notice I cannot use a aerator or any other attachement while the bagger being intact to the tractor.. do I need to purchase a sleeve hitch to attach a spreader with out taking the bagger off?

Your going to have to remove the bagger to use any rear attachments Nago. Only takes about 30 seconds though...

Not sure if it is the same bagger, or deck, but I have no complaints about the GT-5000 / 3 bin bagger latch up.

Check this out...

Also.. do I need to remove the bagger if using a tow spreader or plug aerator? i read some where this cannot be done... and would require me to by a sleeve hitch..? any opinions? Please let me know, I'd like to buy this by tomorrow and take advantage of the extra dollars off and 1 year no payments :)

Sears dropped the baggers price.. #24896 is $369.99 up March 22nd.. :)

Debating to pick up up since the Ebay deals are long gone... I think they closing out on lots of Garden equipment.. Gonna get a Plug Aerator most likely the agrifab model 48 " it's $229 @ the Ace Hardware store.. Plus there is a $20 mail rebate for anything over $200 from Agri-Fab.. :)

I bet that they did not clean the deck and the tube. if the tube is blocked it will not have enough force to blow the grass over to the 3rd ben. Wet grass is the only problem I can think of that will cause problems. How many have been made and how few bad reviews? It is like everything else. If you do not take care of it you will have problems.

Don't read web reviews of that nature. There is always someone that is a dum, dum that has problems. LOL I have a 2 bagger on a 4500 and it works great on my lawn. I live in the city and have a very well trimmed lawn. It picks up everything. There is always a hand full of spill if it is full. Once I cut the grass when I missed a week and it was very wet. The tube pluged a little but that is so easy to flush. Then again I am out here in Sunny dry, dry dry California. I cut the grass after the morning due or after the spricklers have watered without any problem. Just pluged once. I do 4 lawns on the street and never have a problem.

I have the 3 bag unit on a 2006 GS6500 and it is outstanding in terms of bagging. I use the Hi-lift blades and it picks up everything from acorns to twigs to soil if the deck is too low. The only concern is it throws a lot of dust if your bagging in a real dry period (as we had this summer) and I wore a dust mask.
