I have a deck leveling issue with my Ariens iKon XD 52. It just turned 20 hours.
Within the first 3 hours of owning I found a steel rod my brother left in my dad's yard. It took a hunk from the middle blade.
I could only find three packs so I changed all the blades and saved the 2 from the left and right side.
The mower cut even. Even with the bad blade. It cut fine after replacing the blades.
I haven't ran into anything else and only cut mine and my dad's yard.
One side started cutting lower. So here's what I did.
1. Check tire pressure. All tires were good on psi.
2. Checked the blade height and one side was a little off.
Ariens videos shows using a tape measure but that's impossible with the three blade 52.
So I set the deck on 1-1/2 inch and slid pieces of 2x4's and adjusted the from of deck with blades pointing forward until the blades lightly rested on the 2x4s.
I them went to the back and done the same but I used a 1/4 inch wood shim and a 2x4 to give the rear of the deck a pitch.
Still didn't cut right.
So I rechecked tore pressure.
This time I used the same method with the 2x4s and the shims and 2x4s on the rear but I used the deck instead of the blades.
Still uneven cut.
A friend suggested maybe a warped spindle.
So I jacked the mower up as high as possible. Placed jack stands and I used a permanent marker on the inside of the rear deck to mark where the blades were.
Them I spun the blades around and checked to see if they were level with the mark. They were.
Still cut uneven.
So last night. I go back to the first method and used the 2x4 on from blades and the 2x4 with shims on the rear blades. Adjusted all until the blades lightly touched. This time setting the deck at 2-3/4 and flipping the 2x4 piece on their side so they were 2-3/4.
Still the left side is cutting lower.
I have noticed the right front deck hanger isn't holding all the weight. The left front is.
The left rear hanger is holding weight but not the right rear hanger. Just a small amount of give.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
