Advise on Wheel Horse with Loader

I’ve been helping a friend restore a B80. As it turned out it needs a four speed transmission because the bearings are rusted. The gears are fine but I figured it would be save time by slipping in a new rear. Thought I had one located but the gentleman has yet to get back in touch with me.
To make a long story short, I was telling another friend about my quest and he advised that his aunt had an Old Wheel Horse in a shed. I went over to look at it this morning and it’s a 161 with a front end loader. She told me that it’s been sitting for about 15 years and appears to be in good shape (not running). Now I’m a farmall cub and cadet guy so I don’t know much about Wheel Horses . I’m thinking about getting because it looks like a fun little project. Worse case is if the transmission guy doesn’t get back it looks like I can pull the rear in the 161 and put it in the B80 and part out the rest of the 161 along with the loader. I think the loader “ARK” may fit on a cub cadet anyway. My question is: are the 161 good units? Thanks in advance for any input.

Mark--another option, if you don't find anything, might be the tractor (Wheelhorse) show out in Portland, Indiania in a couple weeks. I understand they have some swap items--Maybe you can contact someone going that way....
I'm still calling around, too....

I still have yet to decide to go get it. I'll wait to see if the man from Richmond, VA gets back in touch with me with the transmission. If not I'll get it pull the tranny and sell the entire thing for what I paid minus the rear. I have no room for another tractor that size (its pretty long and will take up a bunch of room in what little I have left in the garage).

I would be interested in the loader for the C161, if you decide to part it out. I live in Goochland, VA.
