For some reason my A/C just stopped working in my Chevy Express 3500 van .. it was working fine, then went to use it yesterday .. and it would not work ..

What would be the best thing to check first ? A Fuse ? The blower is working fine .. it seems like the compressor is not kicking in ???

I would check for fuse or relay, Ken. Then if their OK, check for juice to the compressor.
After that check for refrigerant leak on the hoses. Depending on the age, it may just need recharge.

make sure your freon might doesn't need re-charged . if that doesn't help ,try the relay it might be out in the engine bay ,if that doesn't work you could try by passing your compressor cut out switch .:goodl: kept us posted on your progress:thThumbsU

I had the same thing happen last week in my old '93 Caddy. I haven't had the time to check it out, but now have a couple of things mentioned above that I hadn't thought of. Hopefully, we both get lucky and it's a fuse or loose wire.

All fixed up and working just dandy !!!

It was the darn belt .. it somehow came off the pulley .. and because the compressor is mounted so low .. I did not see it .. till I went under the truck to check for power at the compressor .. O well thanks for the replies :trink40:
