Here is my version of the bumper for my 4514. It is made from a used Craftsman tractor bumper and one and a quarter inch Emt electrical tubing. I used hydraulic tube bender a friend loaned me to bend the used bumper and tubing. The bumper had to be shortened about 1 inch also.

Can you post some close up pics on how it is mounted?

The bottom of the bumper (L) shaped bracket is bolted to the existing hood hinge. The upper part of the bumper is bolted to the hood with an angle bracket. See bracket behind upper bar in black painted bumper picture.
Thanks,I was wondering if you were to hit something wouldn't it bend the hood in since part of it is mounted to the hood?

I looked at buying a front bumper for my 4514 (also fits 4518). The honda code is 4172789 and the part number is 62100-758-000AH. In my search I found the bumper is obsolete.
If you find a source please post where they can be bought (after you buy one for yourself).
I checked today, and that part number was discontinued in 2008. Here is a copy if the installation instructions for reference:

It could bend the hood where the upper part is attached if I hit something hard but I didn't want to move the brackets out further to mount them to the side of the hood because I already had them welded where they are. I will just have to be careful.

Yep, I looks really nice. You wanna build me one?

Well boys. I am having one of these made at a local shop. It's going to be aluminum. I though that would work just as well. Our old one is being used as a pattern. So if you guys are still hunting these just let me know and we might be able to work it out.

And no the hood won't bend, as ours has been banged many times and only has some paint scuffs. It was a great idea for my
Pop to get this when we ordered this tractor.

Well boy I got my aluminum grill made. It looks pretty darn nice.
They said he could make a few more of you guys would want one. Should have pics soon as my cell cam took a crap.
