I've been looking for awhile and finally found a 455. Tractor has 1600 hrs and came with a rebuilt 60" deck and front quick hitch with a front pto. I had to give $4500 for it all. It also came with tire chains a new set of mower blades and a box of parts that included a steering cylinder.

Tractor is a 1997. Is there anything I need to know or worry about? I searched but nothing came up as far as differences or issues between the years.

Also does deere offer a plastic chute for the 60" deck. The metal one is gone.

Here are a few pics of my "Ruegg" 3 pt on the back of my 455 AWS. Love the 3 pt, but I do wish I would've gone with the "Heavy Hitch" rather than the small Ruegg draw bar when I ordered this stuff. Keep it in mind.

Very nice looking tractor but I may be a bit biased. The only issues that I can think of are potential diff leaks (lots of threads with good info on this), JD shows the wrong replacement belt for the alternator/fan, and glow plugs if it is hard to start replace them.

I don't think there is a plastic guard available. I personally hate the guards and don't use them (belts or chute). Too many tight areas at my place and the belt guard keeps too much crap hidden.

Enjoy your 455, you'll love it!

what type tiller do you have?

In my area 455's are rare.I was lucky to find a X595.You got a nice looking tractor. As for your tiller cat 0 is about 20" and cat 1 is about 26".If the pins on the tiller are on the inner of the frame you can replace the pins with cat 1 and put them opposite pointing out.

Very nice work on the adaptation. Really professional looking.

can I still join Red Cap Club even if my diesel isn't running? X595

burned300,

So that's what "followed" you home on the trailer. CONGRATS!!!

WOW, first time that I heard that a diesel not running except for the few that have caught fire like the X749 that bagerland01 bought.

What do you think is wrong with it?
