Has anyone seen the specs or know any additional info on these new tractors? I see from the video the XT2 has a Kawasaki motor if you look close.
That seems to be the norm with most dealers of any brand. Best I could do was free delivery, which was really good for me.I stopped by a country-based dealer Saturday on the way back from a farm auction, and asked a lot of questions, kicked some tires and talked to the sales lady there. I 'liked' the XT2/w 46 deck...I needed a bagger, but they won't budge off the $499 price for that even with mower purchase. Had a Kawi engine in another one I looked at---but the 54" deck is too big for my needs.
my take on this dealer is "Here are the Cubs--take it or leave it".....
I don't know----:dunno:

if you are looking at a GX, why not take a look at an XT3 and pick the deck that you want? I was looking an XT2 LX46 FAB also, and ended up with an XT3 GSE with a 48" FAB deck. What a difference over the LX. Take a good look, you may agree. Thanks for the replies. I didn't initially plan on doing more than mowing over somewhat bumpy, sometimes sloped and occasionally damp ground with several obstacles, but the GX54 FAB got me wondering about additional capabilities, toughness and performance without too much additional cost.
As far as the LX46 FAB, it may be more maneuverable and have better traction and cut quality? One dealer had two of the Kawasaki 18 hp in stock (Special Editions?) and another dealer had the Kohler 24's. Still haven't decided, please keep the info coming. :thanku:
Price. I am looking at a $2500 LX46FAB or a $3000ish last year's GX54FAB (still seems an incredible amount for a mower to me) and you are talking about a GSE which lists for $4300 without a mower deck. :dunno:if you are looking at a GX, why not take a look at an XT3 and pick the deck that you want? Sorry, I got the GS. I think they retail for $3600 before the deck. Still a pretty penny, but it is built like a tank compared to the LTs. I am VERY happy with the tractor. It has cut my mowing time/ yard work in half. Im hoping it is the last tractor I buy. Good Luck!Price. I would look closer at the Kawasaki's, just my opinion. Thanks for the replies. Take some pictures of where and how this is mounted. Nice.Bought the sunshade, and my wife gave me a hand installing it. Sun won't be a problem now.
View attachment 1630482 in back of seat. Front & rear brackets use six bolts and washers, lock nuts .everything else snaps together with push buttons. Directions are pretty straight forward .
SORRY, CAMERA ISN'T WORKING NOW.
Who makes the motor? Here's a short clip of what the new XT2 LX42 EFI engines sound like..... Enjoy

I checked out the Cub web site today and noticed that they must have run out of Kawasaki motors for the year as the XT2s are now all Kohler 7000 motors.
Hunter, not sure what company actually makes it, but it is made in China. I checked in this when it first came out. Sales rep confirmed it was a Chinese made engine, which was a big reason I went with the tractor model I did.Who makes the motor?
Hi all, just made a deal on a LX42KW lawn tractor and a lot of my decision process was based on the many positive reviews in this thread. I pick up my new tractor on Saturday, I lucked out as the local dealer had two left over 2015's so I got my tractor with bagger all in for $50 more than the 2016 model was before tax. Looking forward to putting some hours on this machine!
Yeah! That mulch kit will blow a lot of crap in the air and on top of the deck. Like you, it's no big deal to me as I blow the mower off after every use and wipe it down with detailing products after every other use.Mowed the lawn today and got to try out the newly installed mulch kit. Worked well, although like others, the gap the plug leaves on the top side of the deck is noticeable. Its not a huge deal to me, but it does leave a big enough seam to where clippings escape and collect on the top side of the deck. I typically blow off the deck after each time I use the tractor so its not a big deal to me. But... it is worth mentioning. Pics attached to show what I'm talking about.
