Yardwork, my experience is with the snowblowers I had on my 212 and 216, they worked very well but didn't always throw max distance until you were going through about 4 inches of snow pretty quick. Once you get around 5 inches or more the single stage will throw about 20 - 30 ft so normally you can get it off the driveway right away. I sometimes run into the buidup problem where I back the vehicles to turn them around since that exceeds 30 ft and builds up. Not uncommon for us to receive 14 to 20 inch dumps here off of Lake Erie and I have no problem clearing that with the 200 series! But I bet I'll enjoy the hydraulic lift instead of manual lift!

Too mamy projects going on...... anyways a little furter on the snowbolwer, not sure if I'll get it done in time to use it. Sandblasting is out of the question now as my line freezes up! So back to the wire cup!!

Very little work on it but got this done and really have to say that this should have been standard "are you listening John Deere" to make storing and moving the snowblower much easier!

Looks Great!

I have 2 MF blowers and I may paint one up and sell it off. The smaller blower has a worn cutting edge and I have thought about using a heavy duty cutting edge off a loader to weld in place.

Looks great. I envy the work your welder did.

Still making slow progress on the snowblower. Here's what the shelll looks like now. It will still need to have some sandblasting done before it can be painted but it's going to be quick when it warms up! Good thing I got the blade this year too!

Looking sweet so far. I wonder if you should have it final sandblasted and then powder coated JD Yellow to really make it last.

If it hadn't required so much welding I would've probably done that. But I'm just getting it ready to work and won't be showing it! I'm going to do some fiberglass work on it to cover the steel with the rust potholes. That should protect the steel for a long time and will be easy to touch up and paint!

Very nice to see people doing this type of restoration, excellent work! Looking forward to more pics.

That is a lot of work involved--and I , for one--appreciate your efforts and attention to detail!:thanku:

Keep those pictures a-rolling! we are picture junkies....

I'd like to thank everyone for the encouragement! Sometimes I think it would've been soooooo much easier just to buy one in good shape, but just a little bit of glass work, some sanding and then the painting and I'll be ready to rebuild. Might have to import some snow this summer just to test it out!!!

Actually just take a small kids plastic swimming pool, and fill it with a lot of dawn soap or some kind of suds soap, spin it up a lot so that your whole back yard is full of soap suds/bubbles, and then drive around with the blower shooting all the suds in the air. I am sure the kids would love that, and your neighbors will think you are quite crazy.:ROF

Glockem, would need to get the jacket with long arms on order if I do something like that! Did get some more done on the snowblower. This was the last part to get cleaned with the twisted steel wire wheel. Next step will be to sandblast to get the final rust off. Here's sort of a before and after shot!

Getting along on the snowblower, the sandblasting with the siphon unit took way longer than I would have imagined!!! Anyways getting some of the areas towards their final stages:
