I came across this little gem today. I have 3 other F mowers, but none of them are currently running. I am semi "retired" from flipping, but I still like to brows craigslist. It's a 10520 from '95. Runs good so far. It needs some wheels, which I can harvest from one of my non running F mowers. The PO engendered a new flywheel brake cable with an aviation cable, and it's better than the real one. It came with 2 bags and a chute. $80, I didn't have the heart to bargin. His wife was making him get rid of it.

Very nice Podor glad it runs !!!!

That's a great buy for 80.00. I am going to assume that being a 1995 model that it has the metal Walbro carb. Use it and enjoy it!! Bill

Ran it for a while today. It surged a bit at first and started to smooth out after about 5 minutes. It has a leak in the tank somewhere. Seems to be around the middle inside seam. I'll pop it off and take a look at it. I think my magic Quick Bond can take care of it. Worse case, I have a donor. That, dunking the carb in the old ultrasonic cleaner, some wheels and a bit of grabber green touch up and it should be good to go.

It does have the metal carb. How long did they use them?

So, this carb appears to have a metal housing with a 4 screw plastic bowl like the plastic carb. Is this just a metal version, vs the Walbro with a round bowl and center nut?

In the Lawnboy service manual I was able to find a picture of a metal carb with an air vane and a plastic 4 screw bowl. It is a single speed and is listed as an F200 commercial carb. I will assume you are able to remove the carb air box from the carb itself, like the old D-400 carbs. Does your mower still have throttle control? Post a close up picture of that carb so we can take a look. Bill

Well, upon further review (wiping the gunk off), it appears to be grey plastic with a black plastic bowl. I noticed it doesn't have a choke, which evidently isn't a big deal since it fired first pull.

I pulled the good shroud off my parts mower and found a metal Walbro buried under layers of grease and gunk! Ran it through the ultrasonic cleaner and it's ready for installation. I wasn't a fan of the one piece air cleaner/carb. I pulled the gears off the worn rear drive wheels to install on the good harvested push rear wheels (toro trick). Ready for clean up and reassembly!

Got her all back together this morning to mow the yard. At first it would only run for about 30 seconds. Pulled the carb off and the hole that draws the fuel from the bowl in the side of the pipe was clogged. Cleared it and it ran fine for the first 10 minutes or so. Then it kept loosing rpm and was running rich. No surge, just no rpms. I was thinking the fuel wasn't being fired completely, so I put a new coil on it and it came to life. It ran perfect!

I think I like it better than the Duraforce. The power was less, but enough to get the job done. Great cut and it mulched very nice, even when the coil was keeping the rpm down. I think it mulched better than the 10552 I had. Not sure if the exhaust under the deck helps or what. Now I have to decide what to do with it. I really want to stick with the few I already have, but it works great when the ground is soupy.

Use it a few times and you will learn why they are The favorite lawn boy of so many. When I use mine I typically just use one hand. They are so easy to manage
