Growing my little heard. Brought home my new to me x740 to add to my collection. Very anxious to get some seat time. I hope it proves to be as reliable as my 455 and 425aws. I have been extremely happy with my 455. Especially after I installed a Ruegg cat 1 3pt on it. The power of these little machines has totally amazed me. The 455 has some big shoes to fill. The 740 has a few little areas that needs a little tlc from neglect from it's previous owner, but nothing major. I think it's going to be a fun project.

Enjoy the new machine and welcome. :MTF_wel:

Sad commentary on previous owner that a x740 needs some tlc.

It is truly sad. I don't think the previous owner knew what a grease gun is or what they are used for. The gage wheels and the shafts they mount onto were shot. Large washers were used to keep the gage wheels from sliding completely over the lock nuts. The tool box lid was broken off. Luckily the oil got changed. I do know that, because it has a NAPA oil filter on it instead of a John Deere. I picked up new gage wheels, shafts, new tool box, and yes I got a shiny new Red Cap to replace old faded one (lol).

It confused me as to why someone wouldn't take care of their machine like that. Like, after spending 10+ grand, you would think they would care a little more. Guess not.

Congrats on the new machine. But we are still waiting on the pics.:wwp:

Where are the pics?

You will love your X740.

I have the same machine and I am still amazed at what it can do for being 2WD. Slap some big biters on the back and load it down with weight and you have your own mini bulldozer.

Congrats, but what X740?:wwp:

Some people just don't take care of these machines. I seen a 2011 X724 at the dealer's the other day, that has obviously spent it's entire life outside....and it showed!!

I don't get it! Why would anyone do that? My 2008 X720 looks like brand-new, and it is obsessively maintained by me. The only machine that is better maintained than my Deere is Air Force One!:sidelaugh
