I picked up a 1973 Sears SS/16 tractor today for a project tractor or parts tractor. So far after looking it over it looks to be in good shape, just dirty and it doesn't fire. It came with a snowplow, home made generator and wheel wiehgts. It also has what I think is the original seat that is in really nice shape. I paid 280 for everything which I think is an ok deal. Hopefully I can get it running easily and if I can't get it to run then I will have a bunch of good parts. Here are the pictures.

Can anyone tell me if the seat is original to the tractor?
I'll have to wait about a month before I will have time to try to get it running but hopefully it will fire up easy. I know the fuel system will need cleaned good first though.

The generator doesn't look like a Sears. Is it a Sears or a homemade?

I will let you know if I decide to part the tractor out. If I decide to keep the tractor I'll pull the seat off and store inside.

I thought about making my own generator years ago. A local guy has an old Sears generator listed on CL for $235.

I found a bunch of new belt driven generators years ago but I didn't figure out the total cost with the mule mount.
They are predicting an ice storm soon and a generator would be nice to have as a backup.
