later got a buick regal and then while going to back school got another saab, a 9000 Turbo.. this car was great too.. it had a 4 cylinder but the turbo made it a real quick car.. but after 100,000 miles it broke down contsantly and put me in the poor house... at 140,000 i dumped the POS and that was the last foriegn car ive owned..

(thats Lex, my 2nd bulldog in the back seat)

To keep it from looking like your talking to yourself. ROF ROF

The car I owned and wish I still had was my first NEW car. It was my third auto, I was 19.

The car, a 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix 2dr HT. It was a good looking car by anyone's standards. Talk about large rear window, While siting the the front seat I could reach up and touch the rear window. Sit'n in the back seat you could look up and see the sky.

It was pretty well loaded for an auto of that period. V8 with power pack, AT, PS, PB, heater(yes heaters were optional in those days) radio. Nice vinyl interior, white and dark brown and both colors were pearlesence. Steering wheel was transparent with large metal flakes. Exterior color was a nice tan color called Fawn.

The poor car lead a hard life. The 4 yrs I owned it it was involved in no less than 4 accidents. First time it was about a month old and was backing out of a parking spot and another car started backing up without looking. Another time the wife was driving to work and a car came out of a private drive across traffic and ran into the car. Even when I had traded it in on another new car and waiting for delivery, factory ordered car, again I got clobbered in a parking lot.

Haven't seen one of these cars on the road in a LONG time but would sure like to have one that was restored.

i dont have pics but the one car i miss the most is my 70 mach 1. the car was fairly solid but a basket case. i gathered parts for it for about 3yrs and had about 60% of it here. then i sold it when my garage was being built and the buyer held it for about a year and junked it. :bonk:

I wish I still had my '59 Austin Mini. Fun car to drive but it wasn't a car for the open road. So I sold it and got a '64 Alfa Romero Spyder Veloce. What a turd. It ran great, it was smooth & quiet, when it was running. The trick was to have enough nickles & dimes (lots of $$$$$) to keep it running.

I have had my share of cars!!!

1969 Cutlass Supreme with a Rocket 350..LOL
1975 280Z
1969 GTO 400 4spd
1978 Trans Am Auto
1986 Trans Am 5spd
1975 Firebird 350 Auto
1980 Z28 Auto
1997 Formula LT1 Auto
1992 Miata..which will be a turbo recipient in the future...

I'm sure I've forgotten one or two.. :fing20:

I had a 1966 Dodge Charger 383 Auto four bucket seats. Wish I never sold it. It was back in the days where I could not afford to insure a third car, so rather then let it sit, it was sold. If I knew then what I know now. :banghead3

I'm primarily a Ford guy but I've got to say that the cars with the body lines of the car pictured in "John Dere Addict's" post is one of the best looking cars ever built regardless of options and regardless of which GM Division built it. That's a nice looking ride!!

With gas busting past $2.50 a gallon, I miss my first car, a 1965 VW Beetle with a 1961 36 HP motor, 6 volt electrical system, and no heat to speak of. Got around 35 mpg, was slow enough to keep me out of trouble, and easy as a mower to work on.
